Dollar General — Local services in Town of Bethel

This place needs more help , this Dollar General is definitely better then the Eldred Dollar General when it comes to ordering and staying on top of the ordering of inventory. This place needs to hire more people though, the one new lady is nice, but doesn't know her job very well. It's info that they can't keep a full staff that works hard and knows what they are doing. I talked to other customers and Employees about this and the other customers and Employees agreed that they need more staff, but according to who would normally do the hiring there isn't "technically" a store manager, who is the,one that has to do the hiring. Customers and staff stated they did interviews and have people to hire, but it is up to the store manager... My question is then why were the interviews done on the first place? If only the store manager can hire,the person for the job It's not fair to the employee doing the interview or to the person that is being interviewed, giving them an interview and given them false hopes that they,will or could be hired Why is this store going through so many managers? Actually all the dollar,General's in this area ate falling apart,and going through,mangers like crazy. Maybe they need to look at the BIGGER PICTURE IF you have to,keep changing STORE MANAGEMENT then maybe the Company should be looking at the District Manager and Regional manager to see where the problem really is. Instead of just hiring people that are not at all fully qualified for the positions. This is just going to hurt Dollar General...

This store definitely has a broad variety of useful merchandise. Their prices are about what would be expected from a dollar store. However there are quite a few problems with this store as well. There often appears to be only one employee, leading to incredibly long and slow lines at the single open register. The store is frequently very dirty and always incredibly disorganized. Shelves are a mess, merchandise is often in the wrong spot or lacks clear labeling. In general it rarely feels as though any care was given to the cleanliness and organization of the store. I am not sure if it is due to poor management or poor staffing, but it is a very visible problem. I feel that perhaps the reason this store has stayed open so long under these conditions is that it effectively has a corner on this market in the area as there are not really any stores selling the kind of general wares carried at this Dollar General which are any closer...

The store usually has what i am looking for and is close by and convenient. HOWEVER, it is disorganized and the registers are down a lot. The touch screen doesn't work and when I asked the cashier how i could use my digital coupons if the touch screen is down she basically yelled at me and gave us a guilt trip about needing to change registers or call someone in from their lunch break. It's not my fault if the equipment doesn't work. We ended up not buying most of what we shopped for. A few weeks prior to this trip the register wasn't printing out receipts and when i asked I got yelled at. Now when i think i need to pick up something on the way to the lake i ask myself, "do i feel like getting yelled at by a...
