Medford Haunted House — Local services in Town of Brookhaven

RUN do not walk over to this AMAZING hidden gem! My friends and I have made this our tradition for the past five years. This year our friend flew in from his fellowship program in West Virginia just to make sure to keep up our tradition. That’s how great this place is. This year, hands down was the most creative, suspenseful, heart pounding, imaginative, scary one yet! I would also like to note that every detail is noted. Because it’s in a neighborhood I’ve always heard concern about cars, neighbors, etc. This man has workers (volunteer workers mind you) on the road directing cars, helping with traffic, helping with parking, using flashlights, wearing reflective vests, etc. He is more and more organized every year and now having a ticket booth which made the line so much smoother. Neighbors have never complained and I’ve heard that from the neighbors themselves. Every year people are laughing and having such a good time. I’ve NEVER seen an altercation, never heard yelling, never saw one negative thing happen. Everyone I’ve ever talked to, no matter the age always say how they feel like a kid again on Halloween. I don’t know about you, but I miss those days, and I absolutely feel the same way when I’m there! Last night I was offered to come and volunteer as a worker - we got to talking and I told them how when I was in high school I worked at Dark Side (which by the way Medford Haunted House is much better). By far one of the best haunts on the island. They only ask for a donation and for a donation it is totally worth it. No one ever understands how well the actors really are. Not one actor broke character and did an outstanding. The hillbilly guy was great and played his part very well. The actors even interacted with our group and not only for the scares. The walk through had great esthetics and something different around every corner. The actor that crawled on the floor and went crazy was a great scare. The owner that runs the haunt is very polite. My family and I went to the Medford Haunted House tonight for the first time. We had heard how good it was from a family friend so we decided to check it out. At first I was a little taken back since it’s literally a house and was only 10$. However, it was an absolute amazing experience, would 100% recommend!! We had talked to the owner before entering about himself and his place. What a great guy ! We are blown away by his dedication and effort to his haunted house.
