Purple Monkey Antiques — Local services in Town of Brutus

This is the NEW Purple Monkey and I was very happy to see another business in weedsport getting better and not worse. Thank you to the new owners who ever you are :). My first visit was Christmas shopping this year and I was more than pleasantly surprised!! Significantly different than a few years ago. The store was clean, spacious, well organized and the staff was knowledgeable, and friendly. I was looking for a smaller piece of antique furniture or an antique lamp, I found lots of options for both. I opted, for a beautiful 2 tier table about 4 ft tall. The best part was the price! It was very reasonably priced at $69. (I saw 2 identical tables on eBay, one sold for $80 + $50 shipping and the other one was listed for $200…. yeah, not going to happen) I walked out of the Purple monkey $69 + tax! A really great deal. On the way out I saw a small box of silver-plated flatware maybe about 35 pieces. So I went back in and bought the box for $10. (Would have listed on eBay or FB marketplace for $25-$35. Needless to say, I’ll be going back again soon, there are lots of areas in the store I didn’t have time to explore. The items were curated well IMO, many very popular collection items and attractive one of a kind stuff. All of the prices that I got were without negotiation but the staff person was open to some negotiation if I so desired. If you are into “antiquing” or “Uniquing” I hope you get a chance to stop by the Purple Monkey, if you were l there a couple of years ago, you should try it again now, IMO it’s a whole new experience. I’m not one who normally writes reviews, good or bad. And I’m not an antiques expert. I don’t even know who the new owners are. so, it’s not like I’m their brother-in-law. Writing a fake review. Me and my boyfriend met a friend of his here a few Friday’s ago for Friday night auction event. It did not disappoint! We had at shower fun time at the laid back auction…picked up a couple few things. Then we stepped right across the Street for a beer and a super good pizza! I can’t wait to go back to purple monkey antique’s for another Friday...
