Absolutely adorable! -Their unique kids "playground" is a huge hit. It's basically consists of several huge mounds of hay barrels (for running and climbing); a ton of recycled tires (balancing acts and swings); and a huge tricycle lap. But none the less, every kid in there is happy. It's creative and well done. But I strongly recommend having your kids in pants! -The Maze is cute and not too long... but it is quite a hike away from the main activities. -Bring actual cash! Especially on a busy fall weekend. A lot of things have "cash only" stations (the maze, coffee hut, charity brat fry, and honor system $.50 or $1 donations). It will keep you from avoiding meltdowns because you have to go back inside and wait in a ridiculously long line to pay. We haven't done the hay ride, so I can't comment on that. The downside: most everything is over-priced. The pumpkins especially. The lines for the caramel apples can get ridiculous It had to have been an hour long wait when we got there today. Instead this year we got caramel "to-go" from the main house on our way out. (That was a tip I got from another patron last year... and the upside to that is we got a bag of apples and 4# of the world's best homemade caramel for about $16... that is probably enough for 18 to 20 apples at home! yay!!!) Porta-potties!!! Yuck. And unless you're in extremely good shape, you'll probably be a little sore tomorrow :-) It's a big place and there is a lot ground to cover. Show up full and well rested... or at least make sure the kids are, for optimale fun. The petting zoo on a busy weekend is a bit disappointing. I'm assuming the animals were over-stuffed from all the treats the earlier visitors had given them. So we hardly saw any animals out this afternoon... and none wanted to be attention. I'm thinking they were all inside, in a happy food coma :-) Even though the setting is beautiful for pictures, I wouldn't wear your best clothes. Every year I over hear dozens of moms complaining because their kids "ruined" their best fall outfits. And kids complaining about sore feet. Keep in mind that this a farm! Comfortable clothes and shoes are highly...
ย ย ย Read moreI have been a Wisconsinite my whole life, have never been to The Little Farmer until this past weekend. It's perfect for children of all ages, they have a huge enclosed playground area with only one exit/entrance, so it makes it easier to wrangle the littles during play. Everything was very reasonably priced for being kind of touristy place to visit. It's super quaint, with tons of beautiful foliage/historic buildings and places to take cute selfies/family photos. The day we went they were making custom-to-order carmel apples, it was awesome. Their baked goods are excellent. The hayride is a bit more rough than I anticipated, plus their apple orchard is so healthy, the limbs have begun to overgrow into some of the hayride path. Was not a fan of getting whacked by some of the ends of the branches lol. Their staff is extremely helpful and kind. Their pumpkins are top notch, and they provide wagons to cart around your purchases (first come, first serve for the wagons, but it seemed like there were always enough). PSA: PLEASE be slow in the parking areas, my toddler ran off on me during the carmel apple eating, and thankfully the driver was driving slow and paying close attention, or else it could have been tragic day instead of the wonderful family day we had instead. I wish they would rethink the fencing in the front part/entrance to the farm for safety reasons, hence why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Would definitely recommend to anyone to go at least once. For anyone wondering about accessibility, my mother used her walker the entire time, and there were wheelchair users there, so it's definitely an accessible day trip...
ย ย ย Read moreThis is a fantastic family friendly place. In truth, you don't have to spend a dime if you don't want to. There is no admission fee. The grounds in the Fall are absolutely beautiful and pictures are a must. That being said, if you do go, you have to get a caramel apple! ( ok, you don't have to..but you will wish you did!) The kids play area has s small donation box ( 50 cents per child) which is completely worth it. My son has been going here for years and still loves climbing and jumping on the hay "castle". There are tire swings, trikes, balance areas.. quite a bit for kids and kids at heart. The hay ride is nice and you can pick your own pumpkins. I agree with other reviewers that there pumpkins are pricey. If they are too much.. don't buy them! Have your kids lay next to the prepicked ones and take cute pictures instead. The store above the apple barn has adorable holiday type things for a very reasonable price. The 2 other stores ( one in which you can buy your pies, muffins, and apples) also have cute unique items. I have never ate lunch there, so I can't speak for that. This is a farm remember. Your kids will have hay stuck to their clothes! Your feet will be sore if you don't have comfortable shoes. You will have to use port-a-potties. And if it's peak Season on a weekend, there will be lines! If you can get over those minor inconveniences, then take your family for a fun few hours at...
