The urns at this cemetery, regardless of use, belong to the family of the deceased buried in the plot and not the cemetery. What gives Mt. Calvary Cemetery or anyone else the right to remove them and don’t give the old rat-a-tat non- use or care. Take a look around this poorly kept cemetery for a bird’s eye view of non upkeep by My. Calvary. Better to spend the time, money and energy on grass care, righting tipped monuments due to failure to upkeep the grounds around them, etc. Also, many plots were sold at an extra cost of perpetual care by the cemetery. Just try to get a headstone raised under the perpetual care umbrella. You’ll surely be told to fork over $$$$ to defray the cost and then be told that perpetual care covers only the cost of road and grass maintenance. Catholic cemeteries are a joke. They are guilty of violating at least one of the Ten Commandments, “Thou shall not covet thy neighbors goods.” In other words, not steal from the family...

Jim helped with a particularly challenging marker and site from 1981. He went with me to the site and found the marker. They helped me refresh and raise the marker. They were both quite sensitive, not only because I was visiting from out of town and could not readily return for follow up, but also because due to military service, we were overseas and could not regularly visit the 1981 site. Read moreI stopped to see my Uncle and mother in law on Memorial Day 2020.....the grounds were very un kept, high grass! My dad and many family members are at Saint Stans..... grass there was cut, at the cemetery on Union and Genesee I have to say the grounds were pristine ( though smaller I know) ...... I go frequently to take care of my family s resting spots but on Memorial Day🇺🇸 just terrible to see the grass let go.....as with covid there are changes and I realize that.....but grass cutting is not a group activity......very disappointed with Mt...
