Wienke's Market — Local services in Town of Clay Banks

A friend and I drove from Western Wisconsin to Door County to pick up cherries for ourselves and some friends. We had called ahead a day prior to see what was currently in stock and we talked to Teresa, who was very helpful. We drove over on a Saturday and as we headed into the store, we were immediately greeted by someone offering to take a picture of us in front of the market with all their beautiful flowers we were commenting on. We then began our shopping. This market offers a great variety of canned items, bakery goods as well as fresh produce along with their frozen and fresh cherries. Due to the larger quantity we needed, we needed some assistance and Sigrid was kind enough to help us gather everything we were looking for. She was so helpful and fun to chat with. We later found out that she was the Manager/Owner of this family business, carrying on for her parents who started it many years ago. I would highly recommend Wienke's Market, not only for the products but also for the wonderful atmosphere and fantastic customer service! Family operation with simple farmer's market setting featuring canned, jar, and other related products made by wienke's. We've thought their store bought jarred cherry pie filling to be one of the best flavor products for homemade pies, kringles, and pastries for many years. It was fun to stop today just to find out more about what wienke's has to offer. Baked goods, regionally made cheeses, sausages, even found some cherry wood smoked neuskes thick bacon out of Wittenberg, Wisconsin. Short stop but well worth it on our way back from door county. I think their products are great but was a little disappointed in the overall kindness of their staff. Nobody greeted us or said hello at anytime to us as we entered the store. Considering we were the only ones in there this should not have been that difficult. Then my shopping cart and i tripped down a very poorly marked ramp inside of the store and all they were interested in was whether or not anything was 'broke!!'.
