If I were allowed to place 10 stars here, I would with no hesitation. As others have mentioned, the staff, is undeniably the best asset at CDS&F. While I have not had the pleasure of working directly with Michael, he was my entry into the facility. Mike was responsive, knowledgeable, and listened to me, my reasons regarding interest, and offered first steps with no pressure. Matthew, Paul, and Dan are seemingly always there - greeting you and everyone who enters with a knowing smile, a genuine hello, engaging everyone young and old. And the know everyone's name. And, yes, these guys are professional - each of them brings an individual strength to this team. Words can't convey the positive vibe ringing in this facility.
Then there is Conor Maloney - I’ve had my fair share of medical experiences over the years—but every now and then, you cross paths with someone who doesn’t just treat the problem, they treat you. That’s Conor Maloney.
Post-operative recovery (full shoulder replacement surgery) is no small feat. You’re vulnerable, you’re uncertain, frustrated, but eager to do what you can; whatever that is! It's why you need someone who not only knows what they’re doing, but who listens, explains, and walks the road with you—every step. That’s what made this experience different.
Conor an incredible blend of deep expertise, calm reassurance, and a kind of steady confidence. My range of motion? Better than I thought possible. My pain level? Managed thoughtfully, not just clinically. And my questions—every last one of them—were never dismissed, no matter how basic or repeat they may have been.
While physical progress made matters, it is the end goal after all, the human side of care—the thoughtful check-ins, the genuine concern, the sense that I was being seen not just as a patient, but as a person trying to get his life back - combine that with the end goal - that's gold.
If you’re lucky enough to find a person like Conor —hold on. And if you’re looking for someone who combines top-tier medical knowledge with compassion, humility, and presence—look no further. I can't say enough about what Conor has meant to my...
Read moreIt took a little convincing for my son and daughter to try out Capital District Sport and Fitness. Once they did, they were both hooked. Both Mike and Dan have created wonderful relationships with both Luke and Lily. They both look forward to going to their sessions. They enjoy workouts that are created especially for them. They enjoy the great facility as well as the personal guidance as they learn new exercises. The changes that we have seen in both of our kids are all positive. They are stronger, more agile, and have a greater understanding of the importance of being fit. Their workouts have also had a positive effect on their mental state, especially during COVID times. Capital District Sport and Fitness has been a godsend for our children during the pandemic. They were able to work out in an almost sterile setting and feel safe at all times. My daughter said to me the other day, "I can't imagine my life without CDFS." I would highly recommend Mike and Dan as well as the entire staff at Capital District Sport...
Read moreThis place is truly something special. Mike, Dan, Paul, and Pierce aren’t just great coaches — they’re great people. Their knowledge, energy, and passion for helping athletes get better is unmatched. The baseball-specific training is top-tier, and the atmosphere they’ve created is welcoming, motivating, and full of support. What really sets this gym apart is how much it impacted me personally. Training here not only helped me grow as an athlete, but it also changed the direction of my life. Because of the environment these coaches created, I was inspired to switch my major to Exercise Science — I saw firsthand what it means to make a real difference in people’s lives through fitness and performance training. If you're looking for a gym that will push you, support you, and surround you with people who genuinely care — this is the one. I can't thank...
