I've been here a few times and always received good service as far as communications went, but the last time I was there, is the last time I will be there.
First, I had to rent a car to get home-no local taxi service, which was never a problem previosly, until the only car available was a nicer, higher end Buick. "I smell smoke on you. You will make the car stink. This is a nice car. You can't smoke pot in here!" Outrageous to speak to a 55 year old woman and paying customer in that manner. Nor have I ever has problems with vehicles I returned there or any place else. I was stuck. Tell him to go jump in a lake and look for a motel for the night or try to calm him down. It was infuriating and humiliating and It gets worse.
Then the next day after Paul France the service manager telling me at 11:15, "my mechanic is looking at it right now", I don't get a phone call until it's too late to pick up the truck. "$2300 for the part (TIPM), 2 hours Diagnostics @ $175 p/h an hour, 2 hours Labor @ $175 p/h plus 2 days car rental @ $125 p/d, plus tax. $2800-$3000. Other option was wait for rebuilt part to come in on Monday and pay $650- all other charges the same , and I have to pay additional days rental fees for a vehicle that will sit in my driveway over the weekend because I have another vehicle to drive, and don't want to make his vehicle "smell bad".
A .03 second google search brought up dozens of articles, blogs and post about my part, The TIPM being notorious for failing, particularly my make, model and year. I gave a very good description of the symptoms present that correlated to that bad part. It is absurd to believe experienced, factory trained mechanics who know their makes of vehicles took 2 hours to diagnose a common, known problem. I also did not see any minimum labor charges posted. Every video I watched to remove and replace the TIPM were no more than 30 minutes at most with the most basic tools. Maybe they were going to test drive my vehicle up to Canada.
Only when it became obvious that I was removing my truck from their service shop did I get a call, "My mechanic JUST told me he can run a bypass (1 hour labor charge plus 2 hour diagnostics charge) that is temporary so you won't have to rent the car any longer and you can come back to have the part installed permanently another day."
The best, smartest thing Paul France did when I picked up the vehicle with a tow truck was tell me he was sorry for the bad experience with the rental car agent and he was not going to charge me for the diagnostics. I would have reported my experience to the Attorney General's Office if I paid the charges.
I removed the TIPM in about 30 minutes-remove battery terminals, one post nut and about 8 plug and play cables. Sent it to a rebuilder. I reinstalled it in 23:57 minutes including a soft reset. Started on the first crank, test for error codes negative and have been driving it since. My total cost $239 NOT $1000's, 1 hour removal and installation, 1 hour reading how to do it and a trip to the post office. I now question the previous work and costs of work I had done there. If I had the time and interest to learn how to diagnose and repair my vehicles I would. I don't and I don't mind paying for professional and honest expertise.
I have been causually looking for a certified used Compass and Ram 1500 because my vehicles are showing thier age. After my experience with Cobleskill RAM Dodge Chrysler, I look forward to becoming a first time Toyota RAV 4 and...
Read moreI recently bought a used 2018 Kia forte from this dealership. The pictures online made it appear to be in near perfect condition however there were dings on the exterior, the upholstery was damaged, and the paint was scratched off on the rear bumper. During the sales process I was told that the paint scratched off would be fixed before delivery if I bought the vehicle. I decided to buy the vehicle and when I picked it up the paint was not fixed which I let go but things continued to get worse. Before I made it home the engine started misfiring. I called them and they had it towed back to the dealer and brought me a loaner. However, the loaner had bald tires and vibrated like a spaceship entering the atmosphere so I had to borrow a vehicle from a family member to get back and forth to work. They dropped off the kia at my home after the coils and spark plugs were fixed, which I appreciated. However, after bringing the car to a kia dealer to get their work checked and have the car looked over, I found out that the fix was held together with zip ties because the clips were broken. I'm not sure if the mechanic broke them or if I just missed it before buying the car, but at the very least they did not think it was appropriate to mention this to me. Additionally, the coils they installed are meant for ford vehicles instead of the brand that Kia recommends for their vehicles. According to the kia mechanic, this means that I'm basically guaranteed to have misfiring issues again in the future. Sadly, the extra coverage I purchased from the dealer for my vehicle won't cover getting the engine harness replaced until the misfiring codes come back. Overall, I am very disappointed with the dealership and will not be returning. I would also suggest that others avoid this dealership.
I'm giving them two stars instead of one because the sales process was smooth and easy, but their service department should be avoided...
Read moreIf I could do no stars I would. The service department they have is great. The sales end of things and resolving issues is bad. They have laughed in my wife’s face over a constant issue that has been reoccurring over and over again. We have the service technicians saying that cannot fix the issue properly because Joey, the sales manager, has to approve it and he will not. The Jeep will now be back to their service team for the 10th time since purchasing it May. That to me seems like a busted lemon. From a faulty security system in it, to bad sensors, exhaust, tires, and transmission, we will be back again for a problem we cannot see. The purchasing paperwork we have as well states all this work that was done to it before she took it home that day and our local mechanic has proven that certain things we in fact NOT done, ex. brakes, UV joints. We are now almost $7,000.00 into the payments and still have ongoing issues. If you decide to purchase a vehicle from these “salesman” (thieves), be prepared to be humiliated by Joey, and heavy set guy in the front, be put through hell and back and to have your attorney ready to...
