Me and my bike group where at Lion's Park for bike ride then we took a ride down to lock 7 where the state lunch and you can go up a big hill and go past general electric on River road and then if you go the other way ya past the old depo it now an art studio and a big parking lot with bathrooms then you can go over some roads still on the trail go past a smelly building then you go up a hill down a road and you come out under the twin Bridges of the northway going south and north then you file path to a neighborhood go up a hill down quarter of a mile then your at Town of Colonie park and you can go to the pool or go to the baseball Fields or go down by the water put a boat in that have picnic tables and bathrooms have party bring your friends and family I took the bike group spikes trikes 27 Reed Street Amsterdam right off 67 or check us out on the web @spikes trikes. Park is 5 stars. The boat launch I was going to give zero stars, it’s really sketchy for a motor boat. We retrieved our ski boat from this ramp due to an engine malfunction. The ramp is broken, turns into mud after a few feet, and is surrounded by vegetation and dastardly water chestnuts. I wouldn’t recommend trying without 4WD. All this being said, the is no signage indicating that it is for launching boats of any kind and I’m glad at least something is there on the river between other launches. It’s great place to spend some time every day specially if you live nearby almost every day of the summer go there for 2-3 hours Play ground for kids way to walk in between the trees by the river.
