We were visiting from Florida and my daughter is a very experienced rider/competitor, which I mentioned prior to booking. Both my daughter and myself made it clear that we were not looking for a nose to tail/all the horses walking in a line kind of ride. Karen said we would need to do the 90 min ride instead of the hour since my daughter wanted to walk, trot, AND canter. I agreed since I wanted her to have the adventure of riding in the mountains. Please understand this ride is strictly for beginners. If you are around horses all the time as we are, you will be bored. Half of the ride was literally walking in a circle around the perimeter of several fields. Our “wrangler” was sweet but did not speak or engage us in any way during the ride. We requested to go back 15 minutes early because we were back to circling the fields and were bored. My daughter got to trot approximately 60 seconds out of the hour and fifteen minutes and cantered once for even less time. Not at all what we were expecting and for us was a waste of money and the most disappointing part of our trip to NY. But if you have little ones that want to walk in a circle then it might be fine. We should have driven a little farther and paid less and got scenic views and actual...
Read moreQuite disappointed at both the scenery and the service. We were a group of 4 for 45 minutes of horseback riding, all of us have previous experience of horseback riding. The leader did not introduce herself and was on her phone often during the ride- barely gave us any instructions even though the leading horse stopped mid-track the most often. She barely looked back and was only interested in her phone. But she did not hesitate to scold us when the horses would get crammed due to lack of her communication when the leading horse would randomly stop midway. I don’t mind her not smiling but I definitely thought that it was rude how she would only answer our questions with one word answer. The whole ride was very boring. Towards the end of the session she finally told us she can’t talk much due to catching a cold, which I would have preferred to be informed of in the beginning of the ride. The scenery was nothing much- we were just going in circles with nothing notable to see. It was very interesting that other ranches would usually have a specific spot that the leader would take picture of the group at, but in this case there was none and the leader didn’t offer or ask even once to take a...
Read moreIt can be hard to put into words, feelings that you have, when having experiences and adventures. I had a smile on my face the entire time. It truly was an amazing experience. All of the horses are just gentle giants and are trained well and the stables are very well maintained . They clearly take amazing care of all the animals there and care about them. There is also an adorable petting zoo, right when you walk in that has goats, donkeys, cows, chickens. The scenery on the trail ride was beautiful and the horses were so well trained and responsive. It made the whole experience, peaceful and relaxing. I went with my best friend and my 10-year-old niece, and all three of us walked away, wanting to do it again. My niece was a little scared and apprehensive at first and nervous, but the instructors were so amazing with her. They talked her through the whole process and the horse Cream that she had was an absolute dream. Not even 5 minutes into the trail ride and I hear my niece laughing :) At the end of the trail ride she asked if we could come every month . We cannot wait to go back, and I am already looking at my calendar for January to book our next trail ride and maybe even...
