Silver Canoe & Whitewater Rafting — Local services in Town of Deerpark

The staffs were so friendly and professional. We signed the waiver online and they have everything printed out and made the process so easy and fast. They do have paper waiver for customers to sign if they didn’t do it online. They have porta-potties and changing room in the parking lot, and the parking lot is big and flat.

We have about 50 people including kids from age 1 to age 14, most were second time rafting and some were 1st time rafting. We had friends who don’t swim They have different sizes of life jackets from toddler size to adult XXXL, and they were all dry for us to choose. They also have adult petite size, without having to worry about too big and not comfortable to move around. The raft wasn’t small, it can sit 6 big adults. You can bring a 58 qt cooler without an issue.

The weather wasn’t sunny which was so nice and comfortable. Temperature around 70F. The water level is higher than last year due to the rainfall, the water current wasn’t too strong, most of time was so clam, only 2-3 spots the water current is rough, even though the water didn’t splash on us. It was better when the water level is higher, so less chance to stuck on rock this year.

We chose the 9 miles rafting trip, it took us about 4.5 hours total in the water and including we stopped twice for lunch and swimming for an hour.

There were 2 spots that we can park our 7 rafts together.

THERE WAS NO CELLPHONE SIGNAL, so more relaxing.😬 and we saw big Eagles, great blue Heron and some ducks during the rafting. A good way to get away from busy life.

This review is based on a June 2020 two-family rafting experience. We were two moms with three kids under the age of 5 looking to spend a day on the river; we called the day before the trip for reservation, and we received the electronic waiver within hour. The policy was straightforward, and the cancellation policy was easy to understand. All staff were pleasant and helpful whether in person or over the phone. The facility was kept clean and they maintained strict protocol of mask-wearing for public safety. Our driver, Hunter, was a great local guide, as well as the owner Allen, who provided us with realistic weather expectation and safety advice. We did the 9 mi drop-off from Eddy Pond, and I was happy that their estimate of 5 hours was right on the dot, given the fact that we had three kids who were fighting to paddle the raft, and we encountered the rainstorms thrice on the river and had to take shelter after the second bridge; we still manage to paddle 9 mi in 5 hours and had a wonderful time. I especially like that the raft was pump well, and the equipment seemed well-maintained. I highly recommend this outfitter. and would definitely return to the same trip. That stretch of the Delaware River was beautiful and rich with wildlife and eagle nests I would love to take more time on the shore...

Avoid this company at all costs! Poor safety measures and inadequate customer service.

We had a horrific experience with silver canoe and whitewater rafting last week while kayaking. Despite the challenging conditions, we were left to fend for ourselves without any adequate support or guidance. The waves were overwhelming, and some of our group members drowned. To make matters worse, our cell phones fell into the water, leaving us without a way to call for help.

When we finally managed to alert the company, they took an unacceptable 2 hours to respond. Even then, their advice was utterly unhelpful, telling us to swim to the corner with the tubes. It was only when we called 911 that we received proper assistance.

The company's safety measures are grossly inadequate, and their customer service is non-existent. We were left to face the ordeal alone, without any support or concern for our well-being.

I strongly advise against using this company. Their negligence and lack of responsibility are appalling. They prioritize profits over people's lives. Do not risk your safety and the lives of your loved ones by choosing this company. Look elsewhere for a reputable and...
