Holiday Shores WaterSports — Local services in Town of Dell Prairie

Very very bad customer service!! Rude owner Frank and wife or coworker Liz! No TV service for more than 20 hrs, broken coffee pot which they told us they would replace but didn't, we were told no dog in the camper, on the deck, or by the fire pit. That's was fine with us we had a tent site as well right across the road that my daughter, her boyfriend, my son and his girlfriend were staying in with our small Yorkie Poo dog Milo. However in the morning I left the camper to get Milo out of the tent to walk him and he was shaking because he was cold so me and my mom (a senior citizen) took him to the car NEAR the camper and turned the heat on to warm him up. After awhile my dad (also a senior citizen) came out of the camper and got Milo out of the car to take him for a longer walk while me and my mom went to change our clothes. After we got ready we took Milo back by the tent and called the office to ask about the TV and coffee maker. Liz said "We seen u had the dog in the camper. Me and the owner both seen your dad and your dog on the camper property." She didn't care about the TV or coffee maker not working still after 15 hrs. We tried telling her that we only brought the dog over there to warm up in the car and take him for a walk. We DID NOT have him in the camper, on the deck or by the fire pit! But she hung up on us. We called back and Frank answered and we tried asking him what the problem was and telling him we didn't have Milo anywhere we were told not to but HE THE OWNER FRNAK HUNG UP ON US TOO!! We called back a few minutes later and asked to speak to Frank but she said he was too busy and we asked that she please not hang up on us again so we can explain. She didn't want to hear it and we said "what kind of customer service is this?"and she proceeded to HANG UP AGAIN! I was going to go in the office but at this point I was so upset I was crying and didn't want to go in there and treat them the way we were being treated. We r respectful people and they treated us HORRIBLY!! We were not lying, we followed the rules and they wouldn't even listen to us. We had 3 senior citizens in the camper along with myself. My mom, dad and aunt would NOT break the rules!! We came here last year and had a great time even though their customer service wasn't the best then either. We r not complainers and let things go and wanted to bring other family with us this year. WHAT A MISTAKE!! Oh yeah FRANK EVEN ACCUSED US AND SAID "NO ONE EVEN SLEPT IN THE TENT!" Are u kidding me??? 8 people and a dog would NOT fit in our camper if we wanted to!! If he would have walked over to our tent at that moment 3 people were still sleeping in there. But AGAIN he wouldn't let us even talk they just kept hanging up on us! After spending SO MUCH money here on boat and wave runner rentals that's how they respect their guests!?! The people in the camper next to us that have an all year site here said some of these workers r rotten!! They r looking into places to move to along with others. I SUGGEST YOU NOT EVER EVER GO TO HOLIDAY SHORES!! YOU...

We went to rent three WaveRunners with our group of friends. Outside, they had new WaveRunners available, but they gave us the older ones. When I asked why, they gave a ridiculous excuse, saying they couldn't give us the new ones because we were a group, and they would only give them to solo riders. Despite the illogical reasoning, we took the older ones without causing any issues and started riding.

Ten minutes before the end, I was swapping the passenger behind me with another friend. Both of us stopped, and there was a distance of about 4 meters between us. The friend behind me jumped into the water and went to the other WaveRunner. Just at that moment, one of the employees was coming towards me at high speed. Unable to control his speed, he tried to veer to the right to avoid hitting me head-on but ended up colliding with me. The 16-year-old employee said we needed to return to the shore, so we did. He told everyone that I had hit him, even though myself and two friends witnessed the incident.

I explained the situation, and two female managers came. Surprisingly, both of them accused me, as if they had witnessed the whole thing. Their only argument was that we shouldn't have been that close. I understood that point, but their employee shouldn't have approached me with such speed and shouldn't have hit me. Despite my efforts to explain, they blamed me unjustly. Then, another employee on the shore, who was more than 200 meters away from the incident, claimed to have seen me hitting the employee. This was an obvious lie and deception.

Later, the girl at the reception inside the establishment claimed that I had asked her a question: "What happens in case of an accident?" I asked her to show the footage because I knew I hadn't asked her anything like that, but she said she didn't have the authority to access the cameras.

When I got home, I saw that they had charged $1030 to my credit card. This is a robbery, a lie, and a slander. I strongly advise staying away from this place. I will do everything I can to get my money back. The document I signed does mention that I will be liable for any damages to the WaveRunner I rented, but there is no clause stating that their employee can come so close and even collide with me, and I have to pay for their expenses.

The only reason I gave them one star is because you can't post a review without it, otherwise they would have gotten zero stars!!! If you are looking for a friendly place to take your family, do NOT go to Holiday Shores. Our family has been camping for over 20 years, and we were never greeted by anyone as rude, disrespectful and downright nasty as we were by the staff at Holiday Shores. Not only were they mean, they are just plain unfriendly!!!! Our family came in groups, and everyone single one of us said the same thing upon entering the park....it really is not a good way to start a vacation...good thing we had the Dells to go to where people there were friendly! The only nice people we encountered there were Jenna at the front desk and Steve who rents the golf carts, other than that everyone else was very unpleasant. Any family owned business who treats clients the way they do should not be in business. We will never go back!! And we will tell all our camping friends to never go there either! HUGE...
