I came to this area in June of 2020 and wanted to fish and float the East Fork of the Black river. I was staying at the East Fork campground. The owner of Hatfield Sports was great, he suggested they follow me back to the campground where I was staying and drop my car off. Then ride with them to the put in. Upon finishing the float trip, which ended at the East Fork campground, I could just leave the canoe there and they would come get it. I simply had to walk back to my campsite and give them a call when I was done....OK! I will always use these folks for as long as I keep coming to the Black river area. As for the the river …I wanted to float East Fork because of the lack of, well much of anything besides nature. I saw 2 cabins and a bridge in about 8 hours time. Gives a sense of what things were like way back when. Very cool. The fishing didn't lead to much catching that day but the scenery made up for that. They transported the canoe to the boat ramp while we followed in our vehicle. Their price was reasonable at $20 for a half day. We paddled around in nearby Arnold Creek and Lake Arbutus.
