I knew nothing about dogs 10 months ago, and now barely a day goes by where I don't get comments on how well behaved and trained my dog is... and it's all thanks to Adrenne Mesko. This woman is literally the Mary Poppins of dogs, a real-life Dr. Dolittle, AND (the special secret she keeps to herself and does without you even knowing it)... an extraordinarily knowledgeable and able trainer of PEOPLE. I'm an analyst by training, and I thought I could simply do my research and teach myself dog-ownership 101. How naive! There is so much nonsense and disinformation out there. I bought 6 books and they all conflicted with one another. I subscribed to an internet-based video training service, and wasted hours learning useless and unnecessarily complicated techniques. Then suddenly I had a two month old adorable puppy ripping the carpets to pieces, chewing anything not nailed down, peeing everywhere except the pee pad, and making a beeline for electrical wiring (even though it was all sprayed with diluted tabasco sauce) whenever she felt like a snack. I was hopelessly out of my depth... desperate for help. Thankfully, Adrienne picked up the phone. After an hour I had all the information I needed to get our family (I'm a single dad with twin twelve year olds) through the next 8 weeks: a basic routine, a set of simple rules, and most important of all... the bad habits to avoid. At four months old, we drove to Adrienne's house to drop off our beloved but still quite naughty Millie. I felt comfortable right from the start. Over the next few weeks, Adrienne sent photos and videos, and a 14 page manual for dog-owning families which she wrote herself, so simple and yet so comprehensive. 6 weeks later, there was our playful pup, as energetic as ever... except perfectly trained to respond immediately to a simple set of commands. Not only that, it was as though she was proud to show off what she had learned, especially in front of other humans and dogs. Now... we're living the dream. My children and I could simply not imagine life without our wonderful Millie. When I travel for work, she boards with Adrienne and her canine friends, who she absolutely adores. And whenever we have an issue or a question, we simply call Adrienne who always knows what to do. It all comes down to this: dogs and their owners need routine. It's not complicated, but it cannot be "picked up" or learned from books or the internet. It's a bit like The Force in the Star Wars movies... you need to learn it from a Jedi. Adrienne Mesko is our Obi-Wan Kenobi. I cannot say enough good things...
Read moreAdrienne is a life saver and really taught us how to train and communicate with our dog! We’ve had experience training a puppy before, but we were in over our heads with our 4 month standard poodle pup. Otto would run like mad in the house, bark non-stop when in his crate, and outside he would pull, jump and twist in every direction. We wanted Otto to be a calm dog we can take anywhere, run off leash and come when called.
Realizing we needed help, we called MondioPup. Adrienne suggested her 4 Week Immersion Program. Otto was shy of the 6 month minimum age, so Adrienne gave us some training tips over the phone, and we instantly saw Otto calming down more in the house. We met her for a couple in-person training sessions before he could start. Adrienne is a wonderful teacher. She explained things going on behind Otto’s specific behavior, and how to redirect him firmly but nicely.
During Otto’s 4 week program, Adrienne sent us weekly videos, and we met for in-person training near the end of his program. When we picked up Otto at the end of his program he showed basic obedience, consistently came when called, was heeling, had gone on lots of fun adventures, yet is still his happy goofy self.
It’s been 5 months since Otto completed the 4 Week Immersion Program and the bond we have with him has grown deeper and stronger. He’s calm and relaxed in the house, a dream when walking on leash. And we feel comfortable taking him on long hikes and letting him run and be a dog, knowing that if we need to call him back, he’ll come running with a smile...
Read moreAdrienne Mesko of Mondiopup brought our Lagotto Romangnolo Lilac back yesterday and we were blown away with the wonderful change in our dog. She doesn’t just come when you call her - she prances to you - she is full of joy and - she waits at the door when you open it - she will sit for a half an hour with a “place “ command she’ll drop things on command and she is an utter joy. Best part is how she walks on the leash - like she’s being shown in Westminster. And- she is happily eating only dry food that she gobbles down in a minute. No more picky eater and no more chewing everything in my office within her reach.
Before Adrienne dropped Lilac off she sent us a 4 page summary and suggestions for continuing her training at home. After Adrienne arrived at our home she spent 2 hours showing Dan and me how to work with her, she offered to come do follow up training ( which she only does with board and train dogs). Adrienne has several dogs and she keeps each board and train dog in her home with her dogs. She sent us movies of Lilacs progress- and I literally can’t say enough wonderful things about Adrienne- and compared to other board and train businesses the cost is very reasonable. As I write this review my calm lovely dog is under my desk napping- just what I always wanted- thank...
