Update: added a fifth star because of how hard the folks are working to keep the walls fresh, but even more because of their ongoing efforts to make a fun and welcoming space for all sorts’a folk to boulder. A nice, basic bouldering gym. They’ve thoughtfully and sustainably added on over the years. Two tension boards now, a workout space and yoga classes, hang boards and campus boards. They have a nice amount of vertical wall, sub vertical for slab practice, and a couple caves for variety. It’s rarely busy and folks are real nice. They rent shoes and chalk bags. Kids are welcomed and everyone seems to be cool with them. Very little ego at this gym. A couple things to be aware of. There’re no amenities. They have water, a bathroom, some chalk for sale, but that’s really it. It can also be quite chilly during the winter. It’s a basic gym.

A neat spot to try different levels of bouldering. We stayed on the easier routes (which we saw kids enjoying as well) and had a good time testing out techniques. There is also a ping pong table. They’re in their soft opening so we’re looking forward to coming back!

Really nice place! Staff was kind. Gym was clean. Seemed like good routes.

First time climber, so this was also my first climbing gym. Staff was friendly, chill, and helpful. Great atmosphere in the gym. I didn't feel judged by climbers or staff at all. It made trying the newbie routes fun and engaging. I felt like I made a lot of progress and definitely got a workout. There looked to be a lot of variety in the routes and plenty of harder ones that even gave the experienced climbers a hard time! So I'm sure I'd get my money's worth if I start going regularly. My only complaint is that I'm an early bird and like working out in the morning. Maybe if they get popular enough they may extend the hours. Other than that, I had a really good time and I'm looking forward to...

Updating my review after one year: Cayuga Climbs continues to be a great climbing gym. Since they've opened, the major changes have included adding a Tension Board and an upstairs weightlifting and stretching area.

The routesetting is very good overall, and the grading here seems pretty consistent with other gyms that I'm familiar with. There are good variations in routes, with plenty of options for beginning, intermediate, and advanced climbers.

The owners and staff have all been super friendly, and the atmosphere is very positive. I'd highly recommend Cayuga Climbs to...
