Catskill Mountain Thunder . Money smuny. You can buy a good time on any NY city corner. You might not wake up feeling satisfied. Meaning. You might not find that type of pleasure worthy. That's a choice. What you pay for at the CMT is not just what they offer in entertainment. It's what you pay for to get into what you, as an individual finds there. You can't buy friends but while inside you indeed find new ones You can't buy memories but once inside, you have a number of days of countless memories never found anywhere else. While there you find a community that is knitted together all year long. Not just 4 days in September. These people have a year long festival going on. Every day every week. They post constantly about the happenings. The Handle boys, Patty, Mikey.. the RV park of lifers the venders who show up year after year. It's a home that has and always will be there. 25 years alone for this Catskill Mountain Thunder event! Says more than alot who attempted and failed! They have grown. And will continue to grow. Why? Because it's more of a family than some rally. Personally. I've been to Sturgis. I've been to Laconia. I've been to Myrtle. Numberous times! Did I see my Family of Biker friends there every year? The locals call me cowboy, and I've been here for years, at the thorne. Great place to hang out at, something to do for all. The main bar has amazing food personally recommend the cowboy Burger or the loaded tater tots. Live bands on Fridays and Saturdays most of the time. Bartenders to look out for Fawn, Melissa, Ashley Olivia, Amy, and my personal favorite Ray.

If you make it out back to the beer garden stop and see Wendy at the back bar. She's absolutely wonderful, and there's a nice fire pit in the back to relax around. As well as a giant mainstage and pavilion.

One of my personal favorites is the tiki bar up in the field. The girls up there to keep an eye out for Gab, Shannon, April, they also have a handsome young man for all you ladies out there, behind the bar. The food up top is amazing just like inside. My personal favourite at the tiki bar is a drink called the cranberry juice with a side of sweet potato fries and ranch.

I wish I was lying about what I have to say I’ve always had so much fun here and the owners clearly take pride in the event. They get great bands and seriously have made this a fun rally and campground. But this year a bar tender and a vendor tried to rip us off. The woman bartending the outside bar was handed $20 for $12 worth of beers (2) and came back short changed 2 times. Then was rude about it when it was brought up to her. We had 2 drinks then left that bar and decided to drink at the campground. I have no problem leaving a tip and a large one. Just a bad look for the places great reputation.
