Balsam Farm Stand — Local services in Town of East Hampton

I believe strongly in supporting the small farmer, but not at these prices.

I go way out if my way and happily pay more to the small farmer than I would at the big box stores on a regular basis. It's sad to see the slow shrinking of the small farm community so it's awesome that trying to support the small farm has such great benefits.

But this farm stand takes a certain advantage I find distasteful. High prices, poor quality and less than friendly people; I won't be back.

It must be Covids fault... your choices are selected for you so you don't get a look at the poor choices till you're at the register.

I could be wrong but the tomatoes felt like they had been refrigerated and not ripe, the peaches definitely had been in the fridge. YUK. Not why I go to a farm stand.

46 bucks. A small bag of poorly selected items, 46 bucks. And the pleasure of a girl impatiently rushing you though the line, very disappointing.

I must admit their vegetables are excellent and incredibly fresh, however, their pricing is extremely high..We have been loyal customers for years now but our last visit was somewhat frustrating... We are not frugal people and truly understand that excellence demands higher prices than normal, but there are limits to high vs a RIP off.. We recently purchased 6 corn, a 2 lb bag of potatoes and 2 average size tomatoes for $30.00... I really wanted to question the cost but it was extremely busy and we did not want to cause a scene so we left the stand a bit angry and confused.. The best farm stand in the Hamptons, hands down. They have a huge variety of fresh produce including tomatoes, beans, greens, garlic, potatoes, and the most incredible corn, all grown on their farm. They also have berries, melons, locally made ice cream, jams, sauces, and pickled treats. The variety there is really amazing. Plus everyone is very friendly and the prices are great. This is not a farm stand that should be missed - it's the best...
