OMG, it’s still here. I went to Blue Bay in the late 1950’s as a Girl Scout and LOVED it, despite the shabby tents and showers. I’m in my late 70s now and I can still see the driftwood and seaweed and feel the pebbles under my feet on the rocky beach. I can still smell the smell of low tide and campfire. I can still hear the songs we sang and the sounds of the seagulls. For this city girl it was JUST what I needed at JUST the right time in my life. Thank you Girl Scouts! Read moreI went to this camp a long time ago so hopefully things have changed. But i always consider that summer to be one of my core memories and also the reason for my fear of spiders. The shabby tents we had were overrun, the disgusting bathrooms and showers were overrun, and at the time the counselors were MONSTERS. i mean really, what couselor makes a 10 year old girl scout drop and give them 20 push ups and then laugh heartily like "i love making them do this" ugh.
