📍 Split Rock Falls, Elizabethtown, NY Hidden Gem 💎 This is a must see it was honestly so pretty! Parking: limited parking spots so get there early No Hike: very close to the road Bathrooms: there is only one porta potty Rocks are slippery little more than I expected them to be. Be mindful when you are trying to get in and out of the water Would you visit here?

Between the Manzanita Rest Area and Cottonwood Campground along the North Kaibab Trail, one can't miss the surge of Split Rock Falls. It is one of many cascades that enliven Bright Angel Creek as it makes its journey toward the Colorado River. From Split Rock Falls, the creek still has another 8 miles (12.8 km) to meander until its confluence with the mighty river. When it's hot out, hikers are encouraged to get in the creek to keep their temperatures down. Take a Minute Out In It to take a dip! NPS Video/R.Lane An audio described version of the film can be found here: https://www.nps.gov/media/video/view.htm?id=625E682A-00E4-441D-83AC-35392CA599D1

My first time here and I was certainly impressed. Very easy to get to, you just have to watch your step on the wet rocks. I loved climbing all over on the rocks and the views were spectacular! Crystal clear water coming through a gorgeous waterfall. While I was here, I saw the young and elderly come down the hill to get to the water. So it’s doable for all ages. Just watch your step. We drove 2 hours to see this place and it didn’t disappoint. My daughter said THIS PLACE IS HEAVEN and she’s 15. Enjoy!

WOW is this location amazing. It is SO not obvious such a hidden gem. I only knew it was here from research as even once you are here there are NO signs or anything. Just trust your navigation and you'll see a pull off. You can quickly walk and see it from above, or then take a bit of a challenging climb down to get to water level right by the falls - though the best photo spot really is at the easy-access overlook where you can see all the...

An absolute gem of a place in the High Peaks region of the Adirondacks! There are a few places to get good views of the falls, but these are along the side of the cliff, so use caution if doing so. There is a moderately steep way to get down to the riverbed that also has a few ropes in place to help with your descent. Parking area isnt that big, so try to come early to beat the crowds. Really...
