Altenew — Local services in Town of Geddes

When I first started cardmaking in the mid 2010's, Altenew's layered Vintage Rose stamp set was one of the first I bought. A decade later, I continue to be impressed by the delightful floral products and the global family associated with this company. Yes, the company is based in the USA but they act more as a world-wide one, having equally respected design team members in all parts of our earth.

They understand about listening to their customers in a mutual win-win relationship. They hold multiple free crafting learning sessions weekly online on YouTube to boost all up in their skillset. There are many classes as well listed in the academy which can be accessed. The social media fan group is very active with help and praise coming from many. Altenew actively asks for input from its customers about ideas they might like to see sent to the design team, and they are on the forefront of many crafting world innovations. I also admire that they often use correct botanical naming for many flowers, lol.

I see others have commented on the products being a bit pricey, but quality is worth it. They always seem to have a sale on where one can acquire luscious crafting goodies to fit in most budgets. Plus - they are the only ones I know of that have a points system allowing you to redeem rewards for $$$ off, one discount at a time.

They give many up and coming cardmakers chances to guest design or join IG/blog hops. The Altenew Educator Program advances many in their cardmaking, networking and teaching skills. They hold several card challenges weekly and monthly with a large number of gift certificates given out.

I am so grateful to have discovered Altenew so early in my mixed media journey. What I really enjoy is that they are so engaged and interactive with their Altenew customer family. The excitement from Jen, Lydia and the rest of the gang is infectious! I follow Altenew via their App, Instagram, Pinterest, YouTube, email, etc and am always delighted to see a new Altenew email or YouTube tutorial in my notifications as I know inspiration for an exciting new project is about to spark up! Their website is bright, clean, very well-designed/organized and easy to navigate with something for every taste. I am a mixed media artist. Initially, I was not one for big flowers and florals in my projects, so I was drawn more to the generic and geometric design elements. However, as I interacted more and more with their design and YouTube tutorials, I found myself finding ways to incorporate small floral elements here and there in comfortable ways. I've become absolutely smitten with their 3D Embossing folders, but, in my opinion, the most brilliant items I've discovered in their product line are the Leaf Die Mix and Tropical Leaf Die Mix. With those two leaf die collections alone, the combinations for design elements are endless! I seriously hope they have another mega die set similar to these in the works to add to this collection soon!! Every design element in their diverse product line include numerous picture examples by guest designers on the product pages to provide inspiration in using the elements in paper crafting whether for card making, scrapbooking, mixed media, etc. Yes, there are other great companies in the paper crafting design genre, but Altenew levels up with a different vibe and I am here...

I purchased Craft Your Life Project Kit: Meadow Breeze and I absolutely love it. The fact that I can stamp, color with stencils, die cut and then emboss is awesome. I have also downloaded several of the freebie coloring pages. I have not colored them yet since life happens. I will eventually print out and then resize so I can practice on the size I usually work on. I will eventually purchase more from this company since the kit I purchased was a delight to work on. Updated June 26, 2025. I have purchased several items from Altenew since the original post and I love everyone of them. They ship items quickly(then it's up to USPS to get the package to us in a timely manner-lol). I love the complete kits with stamps, dies, stencils and embossing folders, and not to be left out the layered dies with the keyhole designs make it so easy to layer without stress. Their layered stencils are awesome. I just got a package that I opened buy haven't used the items yet but I will shortly - I know I will love them also. Again as said in my first review I will be doing more shopping with this company. They do offer sales frequently so take advantage of them. You will not be disappointed with anything you purchase...
