ETA: The business dropped their PR reply about fairness, but she was not even remotely respectful and only replied to me in public to save face while blocking me on social media. I'm not going to bicker with you, but you imagine yourself as a lot nicer than you actually were.
I just want to share my experience today at the Social Island Easter event. We come here regularly, but this event was not well prepared for. They hosted an egg hunt with so few eggs that many children (including my own) were crying because there was nothing for them. They had a cover per person for the egg hunt and bouncy houses. Unfortunately, they had no cap on attendees, and they were NOT well prepared. They had staff scrambling to add more eggs.
My kids were so upset after the failed hunt that they didn't want to stay. I explained to the blonde woman up front what the situation was, and she rudely replied that it was my choice not to stay, that her staff was walking around giving kids more eggs. I explained that's not the same as an egg hunt - my kids didn't get to participate, and I wanted to take them elsewhere.
She said she can't refund my money because she has to cover staff/electric etc for the facility. Facilities, which my children did NOT use. She pointed to two random kids behind me and told me my kids were taking a bunch of candy. I said, these kids aren't mine and she asked 'where are they then', looking around. I said they were in the car. We weren't the only disappointed families to leave. I told her that if she didn't refund us, we wouldn't be returning, and she said good.
I will never support this place again. This is how they treat their loyal customers and neighbors in Goshen.
Shame on you, Social Island. You need...
Read moreThis place is fantastic! It's slightly off the beaten path, which is part of the reason why it's so much better than some other places you might be considering for this type of experience. The staff is amazing, friendly and understanding. If you have kids, it's an absolute no-brainer. All sorts of things for the kids to jump on - including a giant bouncy pumpkin & castle. Had a hard time getting my boys away from the pedal go karts. The tractor ride was very nice. Got some Cornhole in, too! Good, affordable food options, adult beverages available. Plenty of open space to just enjoy being outside amongst friends. Live music was awesome. I actually debated not writing this review, bc I don't want this place to become "too popular", haha, but everyone there deserves the love! We will be back, and soon. Thanks guys for a fun,...
Read moreWe came to this place only for the Easter hunt event, and yet it turned out to be a huge disappointment. We’re charged $5 per person. There were 3 age groups. The younger age started 30 min prior than older kids. Not sure if they’re understaffed or what, there’s no employees monitoring the event, so after the younger kids finished their term they came to older kids’ field. That ruined the fun for older kids. I even heard some parents yelling and telling the little ones to go away cos thats for bigger kids! I can even remember that lady’s angry face! It’s my bad. I should’ve stayed with my local free Easter hunt. We’ll never...
