"Stand by my work" means pay for parts so they can do it again. The use of after market parts is ok in some cases, but not with fork seals. After one year the seals deteriorated and the dust boot was cracked. A reputable shop knows issues like this and steers customers away especially when the price of OEM parts are equal to aftermarket. I did not expect the shop owner to do the work on a fork seal job done for the previous owner of the bike. I wanted to know what work was done and type of parts/oil type. He said "no argument and to bring the bike down so he can inspect it". He also said he stands by his work. I live in syracuse, so to travel 50 miles is out of the way. To travel that far, I was giving the shop owner the chance to make good on his word. To tel me after the inspection of the leaking seals that after the bike leaves his shop he has no idea what happens to the bike, so he will make me a deal. How is that standing by your work and what can a sport touring mc possibly do to blow oil out its seals. He says the previous owner rode the bike everyday. Ok that 6 months out of the year. fork seals don't go bad in a year. If that was he was talking about, I would have said no thanks just tel me what products you used so I don't use them again or tel me to take a hike. complete waste of everyone's time. Being a past bike mechanic, I ordered factory parts and the work was done correctly. By the way, the seals must have been put in wrong the first time by this shop and then pryed out then flipped and placed back in the lower tubes. I Found heavy marks gouged in the seals and because the dust covers were cracked it let in moisture and rusted the gouged seals and the retaining clips. Water was also present in the lower tubes. Motorcycles are critical to having proper maintenance done, I wouldn't trust work done there. Sorry if this offended anyone. Truth...
Read moreCalled before I drove 40mins to drop off 4x4 wheeler just to have them do brakes, they said drop it on off. soooo I drive there place looks ok I back up unload and go inside to give them the pads that I already have from parts unlimited thanks to Binghamton Honda who has always been good to me just a lil far away. Well back to the waste of time I go in the store and let them know i am here to drop it off and just ask before I leave how long he was thinking he says at least over 2 weeks and he made it clear that it could be a lot longer up to a month for brake job huh? well I loaded back up and went right to dougs power sports Cortland NY, 3 days they tell me. So in the end just spend a lil more gas money to bring your machine to a shop that for one has things in stock and two don't take a month to...
Read moreI highly recommend going here for the motorcycle safety course! I've been riding for 2 years prior to this class, but was unsure if I had the grit to do a road test with the dmv on the busy roads where it would be offered.
The class teaches you and tests you in more than they would with a dmv administrator. Timing your speed, throttle control, quick stops, weaves and slow turns.
Learned more about the motorcycles I've been riding to. The instructor Greg was very fun and cheerful. Made the class welcoming and helped ease all of our nerves.
I was mist afraid of doing a figure 8 but I nailed...
