I visited my mom & dad this past may, and played Rosebrook Golf Course twice with my father. I grew up on that course when it was "Cloverleaf", and it was my home course until I moved to Utah in 1996. I play there every time I travel to see my parents but I guess I am spoiled by the pristine courses in Utah. It has NO Driving Range, it has NO Practice Green either??? I have to be very honest... It's not really fun when you have a hard time finding your balls in the fairway on some of the holes, or have to spend 5-10 minutes looking for a ball that is just off the fairway. The Review before mine refers to it as a "Cow Pasture", I don't know that I would go that far, but they sure need to work on MAINTAINING The Fairways, and trimming the Rough around the fairways better, A LOT BETTER! I personally found the grass "TOO HIGH" where the grass was well grown, and I found it hard with shale on the "new" side in many places as well. It isn't very fun when you play it twice and lose a dozen Pro-V1x's and Firestone B330's and E6's. I found a ton of garbage balls, so I guess if you play cheap bargain balls it's not so bad if you are willing to give up on your good shots you can't find in two minutes or you could be there for 6-8 hours to play 18 holes! If they CUT the grass so many of the fairways were exactly that, FAIRWAY'S and not 1st or 2nd cut length it could be a lot better, I'd had enjoyed it a ton more to tell you the truth. The greens were NICE!!! I like the lay out of the course as well. I'm partial there though, I have always liked Rosebrook... I can tell you this much, it misses Jim and the way he kept the course manicured. The "old 9" was good, I only lost 2 or 3 balls there in the open TALL grasses that should be shorter in my opinion, they used to be from what I remember. It's a fun course, bring plenty of OLD CHEAP BALLS, you can have a great time playing it! If the grass was cut shorter in the fairways and the rough around the fairways was a bit shorter I'd give it 4 stars, and if it was cut like the grass on a Utah Course I'd give it 5 stars. Perhaps it was the wet spring they were having? It's a nice course and the workers are VERY VERY FRIENDLY but PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE, CUT...

The main reason this place shines as a gem in the area is the absolutely amazing staff they have there. They are incredibly nice and always friendly. Something that sometimes is hard to find at the golf course. They always welcome you with a smile, remember returning customers and will go out of their way to make the experience better for you.
The lady that has been working the counter for the past few years is a gem. She is very kind and always incredibly helpful. You never feel pressured when you have to ask a question or need some level of clarification. It is not just her however, the owner of the course is great fun, and a good guy- not only on the course but in the community. There is a new man they hired recently this year and he is also a gem of a worker. Always has a smile and you can tell he genuinely just likes to be out on the course. These kinds of vibes is what keeps me coming back.
Not only are they incredibly good and comfortable people to be around, they also are great when you want to set up bigger events. I used to play college baseball and every year we would set up a little tournament at this venue. Every time they made it incredibly easy to set up and were incredibly accommodating to our large group.
This kind of service to their customers is what makes this golf course go from an affordable option, to a real gem of a course in the area. If you are a beginner who wants an easier course, or a good player who wants a good crowd, friendly staff, and fun golf, rosebrook has something for everyone in the chataqua county area. Highly recommend, and I encourage the staff to continue to go above and beyond for their customers!
-also should note as many others have, this course is incredibly well kept but the fairways can get a bit tight. Not much of a problem though as many of the regulars understand if you are close or miss a shot on a different fairway or so on. They also do a good job at spacing out the...
Read moreFirst off, the course itself is extremely well kept. Just an overall beautiful course and the clubhouse is very nice as well. Ample carts and a good combination of par 3s, 4s, and 5s.
With that said, I golf as a way to relax and this course design is awful. Holes just blend together and are way too close. It's a very unsafe experience. It's a constant "switchback" where you are teeing off and someone's teeing off towards you. If you don't hit your ball directly on your fairway, then you are likely almost hitting another golfer. We almost got hit 5 times and the amount of times we heard "fore" being yelled throughout the course was well over 20times (we played 9 holes). You have to keep your head on a swivel and I was honestly just glad to leave the course.
If the course could be designed a bit better where I wouldn't have to worry about getting hit on every hole then I'd...
