Some friends told me about this place as they are pickers for this produce stand and always have the best veggies at home. We drove to Ruth Ann's Farm Market and Loved It! A lovely young couple that runs the market and have a nice variety of their garden vegetables. It is the items that YOU CANNOT BUY IN STORES. They are all home grown and have all of the backyard flavor that most of us aren't really familiar with. We scored tomatoes, potatoes, green beans, carrots, bell peppers and a number of homemade jams. The only thing better would have been a buggy ride. I made with their most beautiful green beans.. ham and green beans. I made a little ham broth with ham flavored better than bullion and an old bone from the freezer poured it over a crockpot filled with some ham cubes of potatoes and green beans. My wife and I have been in the area for nearly 7 years now, and have been to Ruth Ann's several times. When we drive by on our way into Hayward from the Stone Lake area, we always comment on how well the stand looks. Their vegetables, fruits, and plants. We are always impressed. When you stop, they are very cordial and offer great advice. For us, the advice is well worth it! If I think I've eaten corn, melons, and peaches for decades - trust me when they offer you to try theirs. Amazing fresh garden selections! You don't have to be a gourmet to appreciate fresh produce, Ruth Ann's Farm Market fills that craving. Starting in early spring with their greenhouse tomatoes to spring and summer with sweet strawberries, melons (I had my best watermelon in 3 years, bought at Ruth Ann's) to cherries, blueberries, peaches and now we have squash and the juiciest apples. Oh, I almost forgot the corn and cucumber's and of course now the summer tomatoes. Today the Farmstand is a wonderland of fall with pumpkins and colorful mums.
