Stopped so my husband could use the restroom. Got out of my car and unfurled my black hoodie from the back seat and put it on. An employee with bright dyed artificial red hair taking out the garbage shouts over to me as I'm getting my dog on a leash. I couldn't hear her, so I walked closer. She said, "I'm gonna need those trash bags back." Not understanding what she meant, I asked her to explain. She said, "I saw you put those trash bags into your car." I explained that I'd only just gotten out of my car and put a sweatshirt on. She then said, "You know what, if you need it that bad you can keep it." I insisted I didn't know what she was talking about, and she just shook it off telling me how cute my dog was. Then I walked my dog around the parking lot on a leash while she and her silent partner kept emptying the trash and staring at me. They didn't finish the job and left the trash tipped over while I waited for my husband to get back. They never returned, and...
Read moreI do not like this new concept that NYS went with. This is one of the "smaller" locations which suffers from the same issues that the other small locations have which is a lack of space. Burger King and Dunkin Donuts. Apple Green "convenience store". Seat areas are cramp and restroom area is small. With this new building, parking is also changed between both cars and tractors. No changes made to gas station. Last thing to note is the "historic" looking building that was on the property was demolished/removed when they rebuilt the service center. I was shocked to find that out when I saw is was taken down.
This new look and concept is completely tone deaf to the areas they are in. The previous desgine of this and the other service centers blended with the suburban and rural look and feel of Upstate NY and were replaced with industrial and mute colored boxes. This was a big F or a big L for NYS and...
Read moreVery poorly thought out design. Way too small in every way...people standing in food lines or waiting for orders have nowhere to go and end up in the aisle where people are trying to pass by to get to the restrooms, which only offer about 7 or 8 stalls. The water is always uncomfortably hot, so you can't wash your hands properly. The seating area is also small and right up next to the small walkway. There wasnt even outdoor seating, but there was space to add it. Parking is also cramped. It gets 2 stars for having decent food options (Dunkin and BK) and a fenced in, though...
