While I’ve always found this place overpriced — even more than some spots in Midtown Manhattan — I’ve kept coming back because of the commitment to organic products, the community vibe, and the local sourcing, but I can no longer overlook an issue I’ve noticed (and mentioned) for a couple of years now.
The front baked goods display with croissants, cinnamon rolls, and other pastries is consistently covered in flies. Swarms. Crawling all over uncovered food. It’s not just unsanitary it’s a health hazard and it’s impossible to believe management isn’t aware, as it’s visible every time I visit.
This is a great place with great potential, but something is clearly being ignored. I honestly wonder if the health department has ever inspected this area.

They make many of their own products from the creamery and kraut cellar, plus biodynamic veggies in season, and their bakery is outstanding (try the cinnamon buns fresh in the morning). They also have a food bar with both hot and cold items - the food there varies quite a bit from day to day and hour to hour in both menu and quality. Customer service is competent and professional.
