As one of the few remaining 9 Hole Golf Courses open to the general public and town residents, this venue provides an excellent opportunity to improve your second shot through short game. A long iron off the tee from any of the Par 4’s will leave a nice 60 to 120 yard wedge shot onto the green for birdie if you're successful. Worse case scenario you have a great opportunity to Par the hole and continue your round.
Courses of this nature assist the average golfer with the ability to measure their shots and associated yardage to enhance/document their game as they move onto greater challenges with improved skill.
The design incorporates (4) Par 4's with the longest hole number 9 measuring at 312 yards and (5) Par 3's with the longest hole number 2 measuring at 248 yards. The 9 Holes are cut through a tranquil forest design with elevated holes that require a bit of uphill climbing from hole 3 to 4 and 5 to 6.
This is an awesome course to learn to mitigate risk with aggressive shots and create recovery strategies to improve your overall game.
I walk this course when I play here since it provides greater opportunities to visualize your shots before you approach your ball. The driving range is adequate for controlling your mid to short irons with a maximum distance of around 175 yards.
The staff are polite, friendly and the overall condition of the course is excellent. Just a note on Father’s Day this course is always crowded so plan...
Read moreDecent course, the individuals who had helped me on the phone and in person were great; no issues there. The thing that brings my review down is the quality of the tee boxes, fairways and greens. Many of the tee boxes and fairways were not very well maintained; there were unreplaced divots on fairways and a few of the tee boxes were in relatively poor conditions. Now, this could very well be due to those who play on the course not respecting the course, but it should be mentioned. The sand pits did not seem to be raked out after use, again this could be from the players but i feel it should be said. Finally, on the greens there were a notable amount of divots; on one hole there were around 5 separate "holes" that looked like someone had taken a small garden shovel and just put it in and took it out of the ground right next to the hole. Definitely not a bad course to play on for causal or beginner players, but it could definitely be a bit...
Read moreThe people who run this course should be embarrassed to take your money. I have played bad/cheap golf courses all around New York State and I have never seen something this terrible. The tee boxes are disgusting, less than 1/10th covered in grass. The greens are longer than most places fairways, and absolutely covered in bumps, makes putting impossible. The fairways are either harder than concrete or have standing water covering them. Played here 2 years ago and felt it was fairly priced, it does not appear that they have spent $1 on course maintenance since then. I would not pay $10 to play here again.
The person in the pro-shop was yelling at a customer who was correctly complaining about being stuck behind a group of 9. The pro-shop attendant was saying that the group of 9 "was keeping the pace" as if this guy had ever left his spot behind the counter. That was possibly the worst customer service I have ever...
