Dinsmore Golf Course — Local services in Town of Hyde Park

Great local course. This is the cheapest course in the area to play 18 with a cart and it is a great value. The course is maintained very well and pace of play is always pretty good - don't think I've ever had a round take much longer than 4 hours. Course is challenging at times (yes it is "hilly" on several holes and the rough can be unforgiving for errant tee shots but it is an old time golf course).

Only knock is that the clubhouse restaurant hasn't been open for awhile, but they did just recently re-open the small cafe for refreshments, breakfast sandwiches and...

It's ashamed that this state park golf course is not maintained better. What would be the clubhouse building is in such disrepair? The doors are locked. You can't even get in it. It looks like it's about to fall down. I think it's a disservice that the state is not maintaining this property the way it should. As for the golf course, it was really fun to play 18 holes fairways fairly maintained. Greens were an excellent shape. The course offers wonderful history tied directly to the Gilded Age, important to the Hudson Valley. The view from the first tee is incredible, with the top of Mills Mansion peeking out of the trees, the Hudson River beyond, and the Catskills on the horizon. The layout offers enough variety for a diverse level of players, and the greens are always in fabulous condition.
