Sensational experience! ❤️‍🔥

🐴We have ridden at this ranch many times over the years since my parents have a place in door county and it is centrally located.

The first thing I love about this place is the staff. Everyone is very friendly and helpful. They are also very knowledgeable equestrians. They have a process when you arrive to make sure everyone is safe.❤️‍🔥

Since most people that travel to door county for vacation have never seen a horse in person much less ride on a regular basis, I find their policy to be extremely helpful and necessary for the tourists and non-Horseback riders.

❤️‍🔥The last ride that we took was breathtakingly beautiful. I went with a gal pal from Appleton and we had a wonderful day and sensational experience. The horses are all amazing and well trained (very safe)!

❤️Since I ride regularly, one tip I'd like to offer riders is …always wear cowboy boots or a boot with a short, shallow heel so your foot stays in the stirrup. I would avoid tennis shoes, flats, and flip flops because your foot could slip out.

❤️I recommend wearing a white or light colored cotton top since it gets pretty hot in the summer, and you don’t want a fabric that’s going to cling to your skin. Cotton is breathable - polyester is not. Forget hats unless they are bobby pinned into your hair - because if they come off, you would not be able to retrieve them. I would also recommend leaving your mobile phone in your purse or pocket and get a photo at the end ...not during. If you drop your phone it might break and again, no way of retrieving it.

❤️‍🔥I recommend spraying yourself down with Mosquito repellent because you will be in the woods. I also recommend a good sunscreen.

❤️‍🔥please note - this ranch operates on a reservation basis. If you don't ride horses let me explain why....it takes time to prepare each horse in the morning for each rider. (kind of like preparing your car for a long tour) It takes time to feed the horses before clients arrive and saddled up each steed ...followed by each rider getting on safely. None of this happens in 5 min folks!

⚡️⚡️⚡️ FYI - As a fellow business owner and equestrian I felt the need to respond to one of Kurtz's negative reviews (from a person called - die schietz “ (zoinks).... what kind of a person calls himself - "The sh%t"? … we thought his review was absurd!

These people had their feathers ruffled because they didn’t have reservations (double Zoinks) and couldn’t get in ONE hour before closing. (head shake!) I suppose these are the type of people that show up at a restaurant a few minutes before they close and order a steak! (eye-roll)

🐴I don’t know any ranch that is going to take walk-ins for starters...not to mention right before they close. Especially after ALL of the preparation required for each horse! Maybe the - “Sh%t guy” … Thought this was like renting a golf cart...where you just put the key in and go!! Lol…and Ludacris!

❌In their absurd review they mentioned they had two screaming five-year-olds that threw a tantrum because they didn’t get to ride a horse. (cringeworthy and really folks?) These kids sound like ill mannered brats. Obviously, the parents don’t have any manners so they’re raising their kids not to have any manners either. (...somebody needs a spanking!) If I was working at that ranch, I would not have wanted to service two rude adults nor give two screaming BRATS a pony ride! (uhh!) It sounds like a real nightmare amigos!

The bottom line is...Kurtz Corral is made up of wonderful people and horses. They provide a safe and memorable equine experience in beautiful Door County!❤️‍🔥

Viva la Vida - Thank you all and see...

We visited Kurtz Corral yesterday looking for a pleasant ride. This place did not disappoint! It was incredibly easy to book online and when called, the staff was nothing but helpful. The four people in my group had a very wide range of riding experience, from never having been on a horse before, to being very confident and comfortable after having taken many lessons. Kurtz Corral did a fantastic job making sure we were all well prepared for our adventure. The video they showed beforehand did a marvelous job of showing the basics of trail riding in a clear and easy to understand manner. Sassy, the horse I rode, was incredibly sweet! She loved scratches and was very responsive to voice, leg, and rein commands. The rest of my group was on Daisy, Cinnamon, and Ria. All horses looked to be in great shape, healthy, and were very even tempered. The ride itself was a blast! We took the Wooded Walk ride, as one of our group was not confident in riding, but everyone regardless of ability had fun. Our trail led through both beautiful meadows blooming with daisies and milkweed and through forests with birch and pine, both of which were very enjoyable. Our guide Kayla could not have been more amazing! It was great to chat with her throughout the ride, both about horses and the surrounding area. Overall we had a fantastic time, and given the prices of trail riding services elsewhere, like in Glacier or Jasper, this was a great deal. I would definitely return if I was in the area. My fiance and I went on an anniversary getaway to Door County and he booked a trail ride for us at Kurtz Corral. When we arrived we were greeted by a few friendly farm dogs and it definitely left a good impression. Neither of us really had any previous riding experience but the owner did a great job of explaining what to expect and how to handle the horses firmly but kindly and most importantly safely. The owner is pretty straight-forward and doesn't faff about - exactly what you'd expect from a guy that truly cares about his animals and their riders while having to maintain a whole corral, manage the behavior of a multitude of large prey animals, as well as all of the newbie rider's questions and expectations. After viewing the training video and getting our helmets we grabbed our treats and met with Daisy and Pokie. Both horses were a joy to ride on the trail and my fiance and I had a wonderful time basking in the scenery and interacting with them and learning their personalities along the way. It was really neat to experience that connection and have ongoing communication with such large animals! We spent about an hour on our guided trail. After we got back to the corral we fed our new horse friends treats as a reward and tied them up for our trail guide to take back. The owner then checked in with us and was genuinely happy that we had such a good first time and invited us to come back sometime and we absolutely would...
