Ausable River — Local services in Town of Jay

Great family vacation This is an expensive day trip but what a great family experience. We did the Classic Tour and paid the extra $5 for the 2nd rafting/tubing. We walked the green and yellow trails first and then we did the rafting second and the tubing last. The rafting was a short ride, it really wasn't worth it but the tour guides were fantastic. The tubing was a lot of fun and made up for the rafting. It rained the day before, so they bumped up the height restrictions for tubing from 4' to 4.5' The nice thing about tubing was that you didn't have to rush, you can take your time on the tube. We even got to see some Wolf Spiders. Overall, it was a great day at...

The sight itself is beautiful. But the activities... The lantern tour is so disappointing. You walk in the forest seing nothing and then There is a campfire with no place to sit. It is not worth the Price. Maybe it can be fun for children, but for an adult, it was not.

Then , the rafting. 10 minutes with one Rapid. Not worth the money at all.

Tubing was nicer. It lasted a little longer and We could Play in the water a Little more. But still quite expensive for what it is.

Staff was friendly, facilities were clean. But not...

The Ausable River is a wonderful river that snakes East and West through the Adirondack Mountain region in New York State and up into Lake Champlain.
