Did their 7 hour "adventure" with a group of ten. Our group had to be split up because their rafts were too small, and even more annoying was that our guides had completely different roles. My group had a guide who was a "sweeper" which annoyingly meant that our raft constantly had to stay behind the entire "wave" of other rafts also traveling the same adventure which not only slowed us down significantly, but in my opinion made us miss out on a lot more fun that we could have had compared to other groups; even worse we were completely separated from the other half of our party and so couldn't enjoy the trip together. Also, it was way too long, winded, and overall boring for the 6 hours we spent on the river. I wanted much more excitement, but there was little rapids and most of it was just coasting calmly on the hudson river admiring the clean mountain air and lush green scenery while the guide directed us to paddle occasionally. It's nice for maybe an hour or so but after awhile you get bored and tired of it unless you're a photographer wanting to take stunning pictures - which was not what I signed up for. It was pretty crowded too with a ton of people which was a bit irritating. What's really the worst about this place though are the prices! A borderline scam and daylight robbery. Our group organizer had paid for 12 people just to receive a terrible discount and even then the total cost is appalling (it was $74 per person for 12 people...you do the math). I'll tell you it definitely was not worth the cost. It wasn't even worth half of the total. In the middle of the trip we took the lunch break promised to us as part of the trip we paid for with food they provide us. The lunch break was horrible. First off they have us bring our rafts to a small rocky cliff face that led into wooded area where some of us struggled to climb, only come to find out after leaving the area right around the corner is a nice beach area that looked like a convenient break spot. Why the hell did they not have us just stop there? Even worse was the "lunch" provided us. You think for groups of people who spend 100s of dollars on this trip that they would provide something better than just small tortilla wraps filled with peanut butter (and cereal??!) It was not only cheap and disappointing, but it was also disgusting. The abrupt crunchy texture was awful and I couldn't even force myself to eat it. Even more unprofessional and ridiculous was that our guide didn't even know what was in the disgusting wrap. When we asked him he just said "I didn't handle making the food I just blew up the rafts" like seriously? Shouldn't all the employees know what the hell the food is and what was in it? And the guy who handed them out just said that it was peanut butter, but biting into it it was obvious it was more than that and come to find out later someone tells me the crunchy texture was from cereal they put it in. No wonder it was disgusting, who thinks of that? It was the only option too. They didn't even bother to be considerate of allergies people may have ( like say, a peanut allergy?) One of our group members was allergic to gluten and couldn't even eat it and had to go without. What are we paying for at this point? Very unprofessional! And the final insult to injury was the cost of only a couple photos they had taken of you during the trip that is loaded on a thumb drive. $45. Seriously? They have some nerve. 7 hours is way too long and the trip should be dramatically condensed. Due to its poor quality it is definitely not worth the high prices they are charging. This trip was a great disappointment and a tragic waste of money. The disparities that I had far outweighed the few glimmers of fun that I had had. And even worse, for me it was my first white-water rafting experience. I'll be candid and say it was a bad one and it's unfortunate that it had to be with this company/location. I certainly don't recommend this place to anyone for white water rafting and we definitely will not...
Read moreI absolutely loved it!!! My family and I come out once a year to go rafting with this company for the past 4 years and we are never disappointed! Our guide Andrew Wilson was fantastic, taking us threw more adventurous paths, cracking REALLY corny jokes all day, and even had us engage with other boats and guides. Andrew really went above and beyond to make sure we had great experience, from making sure we tired every surf, trick, and game in the book, to telling stories of past adventures, explaining what mountains and land marks were what, and even telling a few wivesâ tales along the way as well. We were on the water for about 5 hours with a small lunch/snack break where they served lemonade and an oddly good peanut butter and honey granola snack wrap. Towards the end of the ride when the waters were calm Andrew allowed us to put our paddles down and lay about the boat as we floated down the river we got to enjoy the sun and the rest of the day until we floated right back to the main camp site were we got to eat a BBQ that was exceptionally tasty! The chicken was moist. The beans were bomb, and the potato salad was thick! Somebody really knows what they were doing! 100/100 would...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience with an amazing guide named Sara!! We did this raft trip when my family came from Iowa for my birthday. We were split into 2 rafts but our guides kept us in close contact when possible. Sara was so knowledgeable and gave us great direction while rafting. She enlightened us on the history of the Hudson River and itâs surroundings throughout the entire trip. Most importantly she made us feel safe! My youngest son was frightened while rafting but Sara made him forget his fears with laughter. She was fun, personable and one of the family by the end of the day!! I highly recommend this beautiful nature adventure and I highly recommend Sara as your guide!! Looking forward to another great escape in...
