I have been to the farmstand and Knoxon Road several times. They offer a wonderful variety of all kinds of baked goods produce and specialty items. However I was there last week and ordered some things ahead of schedule to be picked up and when I got there I purchase more items. I spent nearly $65. When I checked out a young man, probably a high school kid, put some things into a nice brown bag and for the remainder stuck everything into plastic bags. I simply asked for another shopping bag, paper shopping bag and was met with rudeness, curt behavior, dismissiveness, and a refusal to even sell me a bag. I was very disappointed. I was traveling with my goods and didn’t want muffins bread etc. jammed into plastic bags. I explain to the young man that I was traveling. I also asked for the owner. S was not there and he was not amenable to my even discussing with it further he just walked away and said don’t come back. I called the following day and I couldn’t get the owner, but spoke to somebody who was working the register and said that she would call me back within the next day or so. I never heard back from anyone. I realized that this might be trite. The products are wonderful. Perhaps this young man just had a bad day. I was hoping for a conversation with the owner especially since I was more than happy to buy a brown bag. It’s nearly a week later and I still haven’t heard from anyone. This is not the first time that I have bought a substantial amount of items. Perhaps when an owner is away from establishment here she needs to know that they have the best PR people working for them and this young man definitely last left a bad taste in my mouth. Good products go with good service. And the service last week was anything but good. If it weren’t for this particular incident, I would’ve given Barton’s five stars. I am still waiting for a response to my phone call. I just can’t imagine why a place that sells really good, high-quality items wouldn’t return...
Read moreI am totally disgusted. I have been going to Barton Orchards for over 10 years and I have never, ever seen this place as packed as it was today. They raised their prices to $27 and had nothing extra to offer. I decided to leave after being there just a short time because there were so many people. The hayrides were packed. There was no social distancing and many did not wear a mask. The lines for everything were an hour plus and they closed off the pepper/tomato/cucumber picking, which is the main reason I go there. There were so many people, they ran out of parking spots. They forced you to purchase your tickets on line so that you could not request a refund once you saw how crowded it was when you arrived. The porta potties were disgusting and there was no water to wash your hands. Many of the hand sanitizing stations were empty and I arrived at 10am. I am absolutely appauled by the disorganization and I would not recommend anyone go there. They should be investigated for not following the social distancing rules. My recommendation would be to find another...
Read morei have come here before many times because i really enjoy their bakery. however, the young woman that work there are constantly nasty and rude. i would rather never eat a donut from apple core again if that meant i wouldn’t have to deal with their snobbishness. their behavior was completely unprofessional and disgusting. my daughter came to the store with me and when we entered we did not see any workers until we walked towards the donut case and a bunch of them walked out and acted like they were offended we walked into the store. absolutely appalling. a conversation about the serious behavioral issues these ladies have is in check. my daughter knew some of the workers and pointed out the fact it seemed like they were directly laughing at her. no buisness should ever hire girls that take their drama with them to work. the girls that work here were not evaluated enough because it’s obvious that they have issues with...
