Before Majestic, my pool was an absolute mess. Crystal Clear, the company we had been using, would do the bare minimum to open and close our pool each year. Meanwhile, our main pump wouldn't hold its prime, the sand filter multiport valve had worn terribly had been pushing sand into the pool, and the brominator had a crack in the bottom. During their opening, they threw their 8 gallons of liquid shock in the pool and called it a day. As expected, the pool never came close to clearing up and once it did, after Majetic's help, I found heaps of sand all over the pool which took multiple vacuum sessions to clean. With Crystal Clear, phone calls and emails would be ignored or would take considerable time to be answered to the point it wasn't worth making the effort again.
Finally, after calling Majestic, and working with the kind 'water testers' at the Depew location, we were able to get my pool clear once again. It took over a month of consistent monitoring, as well as a hefty cost of chemicals, but it finally (mid-July) is swimmable. Although the chemicals are costly, they are market price, and the need for so many is not Majestic's problem; my pool's neglect from years of Crystal Clear's apathy ended up costing me the fortune. If I had been using Majestic in the first place, my pool would have openened in a clean state.
With Majestic, I first replaced a multiport valve, then an O-ring seal on the pump, but after breaking again (due to the pump's age) we then replaced the whole pump, the sand filter, a the leaking brominator. The work had been done very thoroughly and timely, with accurate invoices and even a follow-up call by the service manager, Rick, to see how the pool was doing. I can tell Rick is extremely knowledgeable about pools as he can diagnose problems over the phone with true precision by providing symptoms the pool is experiencing.
Their young water testers, one of whom is Ryan, are very knowledgeable. The chemicals they recommend, including step-by-step instructions on how to use them and in which order, are specifically tailored to our pool's needs, and the results have been fantastic.
There really aren't any negative things to say about Majestic which I have experienced. Overall, their staff is extremely polite, helpful, and knowledgeable over the phone and in their stores, and their repair prices seem to be fair with regard to labor charges and parts. Due to the extreme cost of this year's repairs for my pool, I wish I would have been given some sort of discount for the subsequent fixes just for my continued business. It really isn't a negative on Majestic's part, but with putting in over $3,000 of repairs in just over a month's time, even a voucher for some pool chemicals would have been a nice gesture. Again, it isn't necessarily a negative, and surely I could have asked for a discount, but I think some sort of loyalty program would be nice. That's partially why I am writing this review, in hopes I can get a free pool closing via Majestic's sweepstakes, to help soften the blow on my pocket book this summer 😥, but also to highlight a reliable and knowledgeable local...
Read moreThis company is terrific. When my wife Lisa and I moved into our new house with an inground pool in August of 2022, George the technician came over for pool school. George was patient in teaching my how to operate a pool, check water, and performing basic pool maintenance. George over the years (2022-2024) has become a source of knowledge evening speaking to me from his personal cell phone outside normal hours.
Rick the manager is also an excellent manager that cares about his customers. The summer of 2024 was a difficult year for pool ownership for myself. Rick the manager at the Walden Avenue Location has been wonderful in balancing the busy pool season while addressing my issues in a timely manner. My pool was opened on Saturday May 11, 2024 at 7:30PM. My pump was not working at the opening. On Monday May 13, 2024 I spoke with Rick in the morning and that evening I had a new pump installed and everything was working properly. On Friday morning May 17 my brominator broke and I called Rick. On Saturday May 18 I had a new brominator installed. On Sunday May 19 I realized the new brominator was not filling up with water. On Monday May 20 I spoke with Rick again over the phone and Rick had George fix the problem that afternoon at no charge while I was at work. On Wednesday May 29 my pool furnace stopped working. Unfortunately for me the pool furnace was 15 years old and could not be fixed. I purchased a pool furnace on May 30 and it was installed on May 31 before the hot weekend. In late June 2024 my spa jets were not working properly. George came over while I was on vacation and fixed the spa. When I returned home ,I went to majestic pools and spoke with Rick to ask him how much the repair was? Rick said he waived the part and labor cost. Rick is always busy but every time I come into the store he makes a point to ask me how everything is going with the pool. I admire Rick's professionalism in helping me deal with the breakdown of my brominator, pump, furnace, and spa jets during this summer. Even though I might have driven Rick insane, Rick kept me calm through all these issues and repairs during the summer of 2024. I consider Rick as not just a manager but a compassionate individual who care deeply about his job, company, customers, and products. I look forward to working with Rick, George, and Majestic staff for...
Read moreIf you need it for your swimming pool or spa, look no further than Majestic Pools. Between Majestic Pools’ two locations, they’ve got a TON of new and older style parts in stock (which is big news especially if you have an older pump or filter and need just one little piece for it and don’t want to wait 6 to 7 days to get the specialty item from an online pool store!)
Now, I mentioned that they have 2 locations; one is the pool and spa location (on Transit Road just South of Genesee), the other is the inground pool store, located on Walden Avenue, East of Transit Road. I believe the inground pool store is the one that has parts for pumps and filters and equipment of that nature: that is where I ran to get a small part I was looking for… a small bleeder valve for the top of the filter.
The Walden Avenue Store is like a Toy Store for anyone who loves inground pools; you walk in at any time of the year and are greeted by the sight of two immaculately kept, sparkling, inground pools (one with a curving slide!) and the glorious subtle scent of clean summer pools. You’ll also want to wander around and investigate all of the cool floats, fountains, robotic pool cleaners and all manner of pool things while you are there.
The Transit Road store will be your best friend, and one that you will see regularly if you need a little help figuring out what chemicals to use, when and in what proportion to keep you pool looking good (or to fix it when you let it go and it turns green or… er… worse!). They are also you go to Spa experts in town AND they have awesome patio furniture… both things I have gotten from Majestic Pools, and can say, without hesitation, that these things, and my pool, and make summer for my family and I, AMAZING!
But, above even the fabulous selection and quality that I’ve mentioned, it’s the SERVICE and PERSONAL ATTENTION that have us going back to MAJESTIC POOLS 2 locations time and time again. We have been customers for over 30 years and tell everyone we know this exact same...
