Minard’s Family Farm is AMAZING!!!! I can’t say enough of how awesome this experience was for both my husband, and I and our daughter who is 6 1/2 years old! The way this farm was runs is fantastic. My daughter was nonstop enjoying all the activities that were offered all day! From the bouncing pillow, corn-maze, to the tumbling bus, the chalk bus, the array of swing-sets, the tractor train ride for the kids, to the alpacas and being able to interact with them… The list goes on & on! The small details put into every part of the farm were amazing, not to mention how CLEAN and organized everything was! The food and the hard cider were my husband and I’s favorite part! The owners, Jason and Angela Minard took the time out of their busy day to go around to greet their guests, they both are amazing, caring people who truly care about all of their customers that come to enjoy a day at their farm. We ended our day going on the hayride into the apple orchards, I was amazed of how beautiful their orchards were… compared to other farms, their orchards are extremely and beautifully set up to where you can really just simply enjoy the beautiful views of what their property has to offer. When coming back on the hayride to the farm, I met a family who traveled 3 1/2 hours just to spend the day with their family here! It warms my heart to hear how many people come from a far to just enjoy a beautiful day like yesterday, here. I also had the opportunity to meet Jason Minard’s mother, And she is a beautiful soul… She and Angela hugged my daughter so tight and thanked us for coming out to the farm. I also got to meet some of the other family members of this amazing family as well, and I can’t say enough of how amazing each of them are! Prior to getting on the hayride Angela Minard came over to make sure we had all we needed to head into the orchards, as well as making sure there employee Roberto (who was manning the tractor) was all set to go with the next group… the love and care she not only shows her customers but employees as well really shows the true meaning of what this farm truly cares about within their community. If I was able to rate this farm more than five stars on here I absolutely would! I highly HIGHLY recommend this place to be your next stop for a fun-family filled day! The activities they have for the children and specks they have for the adults while there are something that is not possible to pass up!
A must try: The honey crisp hard cider, an Angela’s pizza, and OF COURSE THEIR APPLE CIDER & APPLE CIDER DONUTS! It will not disappoint!
This is the first apple orchard I've gone to, so I don't have anything else to compare it to, but I had a great apple-picking experience here! I came on a Saturday 10am - 1pm, and it wasn't crowded at all. Upon leaving, the activity grounds where all the games were was a lot more crowded than the apple orchard itself. The orchard was pretty large and it had many many rows of apple trees all filled with apples when we went. The only section that was pretty stripped was the honeycrisp apples section. Surprised that there were still as many snapdragon apples as there were, which were my favorite!
They said we could fill our bags with either the apples we pick from the orchard or the apples in the large bins in their barn house by the farm entrance. Bags of just honeycrisp apples costs just a few cents more.
They have a lot of fresh homemade pastries too. Their apple cider donuts ($1.20/donut) weren't bad. The dough kind of seemed undercooked. I couldn't tell if they had some filling in the donuts or if the "filling" was just undercooked dough. They also sell apple cider jam, honey, apple butter, and other pantry items.
Overall, not a bad apple orchard and reasonably-priced. They have tons of activities (corn maze, trampoline, sling-shot apple game, alpaca feeding and petting, etc.), and I can totally see how groups can spend the...
Read moreMy family and I have been coming here for years. This year's experience was unfortunately humiliating. We bring the same wagon each year and use the same method to bag our apples. To be accused of stealing apples when we drive two and a half to three hours each way to come to pick apples is ridiculous, humiliating, and inappropriate. It felt like we were targeted considering other customers had similar setups to ours and were not pulled to the side to have their bags inspected. The way one employee spoke to my family was completely uncalled for, unprofessional, and downright rude. I work with patients daily and even on my worst days I have not and will not speak to anyone the way we were spoken to. We tried to be compliant with what we were asked and that got us nowhere. Something has changed with the management and staff and maybe additional customer service training is necessary. It's unfortunate as my family and I were excited to come this year only for that excitement to be diminished after the experience we had. Unsure if we will be...
