The Country Butler — Local services in Town of Lysander

I would encourage anyone that is even tempted from buying from this seller to please read the reviews below. This seller is known for saying you returned a different item than you did and then charging you what he calls a "restocking fee" on Amazon of 90% of the item.

I purchased a planer for my grandfather and it barely worked properly so we put it back in the box to ship back to the seller. The seller then sends me the first photo below showing an item heavily used with a serial number ending in 08 stating this is the item he received back. I questioned him about the item because I know we did not send it back heavily used because we barely used it. He then sends me photos of a planer that he says he sent us. In this photo the planer serial number ends in 21. He then sends another photo of the one he says they received back from us and that serial number ends in 92. So my question to the seller is, why is the one you took pictures of saying we sent you that is heavily used end in a different serial number then the one you are stating we sent back to you? Their answer was we will get someone in our warehouse to check the serial numbers and this is the last reply we will have in responding to this.

I would encourage anyone who was looking to purchase something from this company to do otherwise and look somewhere else. I'm hoping that Amazon can make this right and at least refund me the $317 this company charged me for restocking fee on an item that was $374. I will be traveling up to New York soon and maybe I'll make a quick visit to the Country Butler to see if we can see the item they claim we returned...

This feedback is specifically for this seller: The Country Butler. All started out ok but quickly went sour. I purchased this product on Amazon and received it in a timely manner. The unit was delivered damaged. The side wheel was completely bent up under the chassis. I contacted the seller (per the intro card that was sent with the unit). I knew the unit was "Renewed" but did not expect the unit to be delivered severely damaged. The seller quickly sent me a pre-paid return UPS shipping label upon request, and I packaged up the unit and sent it back to him. Upon his reception of the unit, he returned email stating I had damaged the unit beyond use and that he could only consider giving me a partial refund. He said it was fraudulent for me to return a used defective unit and request a refund. He said any refund would have to be based on me removing any negative feedback review. He now has my purchased money + the defective unit and I have nothing. He did not provide me a refund. At this point I dealt solely with Amazon and the A-to-Z return policy. Amazon got my full refund back (and did a 5-star job). Unfortunately, I need to make this rating negative stars (if they had such a rating) due to this clown seller working for Amazon.
