Wouldn't rebuild a still functioning "Q-jet" 4-barrel carb... Drive almost two hours just to be told it was first, now $200 instead of the $150 we spoke of, and then after seeing that the two top butterfly's/flaps had surface rust, declined to rebuild the carb all together! Not very impressive for being SUPPOSEDLY one of the last local shops to be able to do a "carb job". Upsetting and unfortunate that this kind of situation seems to add to the loss of this aged, but NEEDED dying art. We even provided a rebuild kit and both floats, along with a COMPLETE second carb to be used for any and all parts needed that we're NOT provided in the re-built kit, as they are very limited with what they include. I own a 2008 f 150 with the 5.4 in it it blew and I took to Steve's and he gave me a price of 2500 to 3000 at first then it went to 3500 after I spent over 4 thousand in this shop my new motor still didn't run they had to ship it to another mechanic to fix. " There words we are not capable of fixing it" so after almost a year and 4 k I got my truck back and the engine came apart after 4500 miles.
