First on the phone number, Amish don't have telephones. So you can't call this place as far as we know. To the review on saying Amish shop at Piggly Wiggly, Dollar General and Walmart, no they don't. Ever seen an Amish buggy and horse pulled up and parked. The Meninite do and they are also allowed to drive cars.
We love this Amish store. It sells kitchen items, and lots of variety of dry goods. Their soup bases are wonderful. My favorite is the cream of broccoli. I add real bites of broccoli and cut up white chicken, yum. Try the multi-colored popcorn. It's the only popcorn I buy. Pop it in a small amount of Olive Oil, it's awesome. What they primarily do is buy items in bulk and package it up to smaller amounts to sell. They have many different types of items there. They don't sell cold, frozen, nor fresh meat products.
Store seems clean and even had bathrooms. Of course no electricity so when it's dark out, like today, it's slightly dark inside. In summer when it's hot no AC.
We come from 3 hours away but we stay in a camper up in Montello area periodically. Our other favorite Amish store up here is Amish Bakery called Happy Hollow on Route B off of 16th Court. Very clean, very fresh baked, all natural bakery items, not like processed name brand store bread. Very nice family. Only opened on Friday and Saturdays, suggest getting there by 3.
Lots of other Amish stores in this area, Google Marquette County Wisconsin Amish stores for a listing and map of them. We haven't been to any of the other ones. Enjoy the area, very pretty and right now (October) leaves are...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting an Amish grocery store in a quaint countryside town, and I must say it was a refreshing experience that stood out from typical modern supermarkets. The store, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of city life, provided a serene and charming environment for shopping. Here's my review of this unique establishment. It was evident that the Amish commitment to traditional craftsmanship and attention to detail permeated every aspect of the store. They have bulk goods, soup mixes, candies, noodles..everything that you can imagine. I highly recommend paying a visit to an Amish grocery store if you're seeking a taste of tradition and a deeper connection to the food...
Read moreThere are certain things you can't always find, but at the same time is m7xh more relaxing shopping in a country store than like Walmart. But some of the younger Amish girls can still be laced and not that friendly just like at other stores. The box the Amish filled with my purchases could have been in 2 boxes. One box was quite heavy for me at 65 and arthritis. Could have asked for 2 boxes but busy writing check and they had a pretty good line in back of me. I guess it was my own fault. But they get so busy also. But at the same time it was worth the Beatiful country drive. Thankful for...
