As a fellow small business owner, I hesitated for months before leaving this review, but I feel it’s necessary to share my experience.

Cassandra reached out to my business to cater the grand opening of Upstate Ink & Thread, requesting a grazing table for 50 people with a $400 budget. My typical rate is around $15 per person, but as a woman-owned business myself, I wanted to support another entrepreneur and offered her a discounted rate. She was fully informed of the table’s size and what could be provided within her budget.

On the day of the event, I traveled with my team from Syracuse to Utica, delivering a beautifully arranged table (see attached photos). Shortly after leaving, I received an unexpected and unpleasant call from Cassandra. She proceeded to yell, demanding to know if I was “coming back to finish” the table. Despite explaining that the setup was complete, she interrupted, insulted me, and abruptly hung up before I could respond.

Wanting to handle the situation professionally, I reached out via email, offering a gift card and expressing understanding – opening a new business is stressful, and I aimed to extend grace. I also reminded her that the boards and serving ware used for the event needed to be returned, as this is standard practice in my business. Despite multiple attempts, Cassandra has neither acknowledged my message nor returned these items.

As a single mother of three battling cancer, these financial and material losses impact my business profoundly. I went out of my way to accommodate another business owner and was met with hostility, a lack of professionalism, and disregard for my time and resources.

Our partnership and collaboration with upstate ink and thread has been top notch. This past fall football and cheer season they have to provide us with high-quality products at a great price, including items like Nike and under Armour. Our players and parents have the best swag around town. I do wanna take a moment and thank their generosity here at upstate ink and thread. Every time an item is purchased for Westmoreland Pop Warner football and cheer a monetary donation is given back to our organization. We can then use that money to provide high-quality equipment for all of our players. We're looking forward to our upcoming Western Little League baseball/softball season because once again upstate and get thread will be there for all our merchandise needs for all of our coaches , players and parents.
