One of our favorite wineries in the Hudson Valley. Their wines are great, personally I come back for the unoaked cab franc and their rosé which has a little bubble to it. The views are amazing. For your first time, id recommend a reservation to sit in the main area, but if you don't have one it's not a big deal. They take walk-ins and have picnic tables and chairs in the back. The fall is the best time to go when the leaves are changing color, the winery is just beautiful and vibrant. They do allow leashed, friendly dogs. They have a really great selection of cheeses, meats and crackers for you to make your own board, all very reasonably priced and locally sourced. And I appreciate that you can pick and choose what you want á la carte. We had the McGrath extra sharp cheddar and the goat cheese which are now personal favorites. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The only downside is that there is only one restroom and there can be a bit of a line at times, it just depends. They have a cute fire pit area as well with blankets you can sit by and cozy up. Sometimes they also have oysters and lobster rolls which are very good. It's the perfect way...
Read moreThis place is incredible!! We celebrated our best friend’s birthday here it was a last minute decision and it did not disappoint! I’ve been to benmarl which is 8 minutes from Fjord and I can confidently say Fjord tops my benmarl experience. The music, atmosphere, people and especially wine and food was exceptional! The views of the mountains alone are breathtaking for photos while sipping on their great selection of wines. They have an option for a wine flight which is the best option to try all the wonderful types of wine they have. My favorite aspect of this place had to be the option of having blankets if you’d like to sit outdoors and it’s chilly. I didn’t feel like I was in NY state the property alone has you feeling as though you’re in England. The goat cheese is also the best goat cheese I’ve ever had, I highly recommend ordering the honey goat cheese prosciutto with the freshly baked bread it was so delicious! I can’t rave about this place enough I’ll...
Read moreWe recently visited this winery on a quick trip through the Hudson Valley region. It was a Saturday, so we made a reservation for when they opened. I'm not sure it was necessary, but they did allow us to choose our spot - which was a nice table not more than 15 feet from the vineyard, nicely shaded. The staff here is excellent and the venue is really cute, but definitely cozy. We enjoyed some of their food offerings - all locally sourced and delicious (cheese, cherry jam, etc.). The demi baguette we got was still warm, so they may make that on site. But what about the wine? Excellent too. We purchased three bottles and narrowing it down to that was not easy.
I usually like a tasting where the wine host gives you some information about each wine. This is not that place, but the experience works anyway. Our waitress made sure we had everything we needed and chatted with us at length when she could. I don't think it is possible to have a bad time at...
