Little Jon’s was a very good experience. Him and his son are very good people I got a bow about 2 years ago and never set it up I kept using my proline bow because it never failed me. I wanted to get my Matthews for this bow season his son told me that I can pick up my bow in about a week and a half I’ll get a call. I left and waited about 4 days in they got to my bow and I got a call it was big Jon and he said that a NAP Apache I brought in with the bow isn’t gonna work. I told Jon just throw a whisker biscuit on there because I’m not wanting to spend a ton of money. He said alright. So I get a call from Jon and he told me my bow is ready to be picked up. I went into the store and I was greeted by his son Jon with a big smile. All I said was here to pick up my bow it’s a Matthews Drenalin LD he looks at me for a second he said Jake right he grabbed my slip handed me the bow and I said that’s not a whisker biscuit looking at the trophy taker prong horn drop away rest on my bow. Big Jon told said from across the room I figured you would like that a little better with a smile on his face. I picked up some arrows as well and I wanted to go with the bit more expensive ones than what they picked up. Jon told me well let’s see if they tune up to the bow and when he already checked the ones that I picked out and tuned them and I said well if that’s too much to ask for that’s alright Jon’s son said give me the bow lol. They were perfectly in tune no tears. I walk over to the checkout and the price of the arrows were 100 for half a dozen I got a full dozen plus a tune up for about 100 so total of 300 bucks I asked him what about the arrow rest? He said don’t worry about it. Me knowing that it was a $90 rest I ask him “are you sure” and he said “yeah.” I was headed out the door and I said to Jon across the shop walking out “Jon I appreciate it a lot you have a good one” he said back “it’s my pleasure see ya later kid” very good people work there and it is run very well I definitely will be back there. They earned a life time costumer for...
Read moreMy experience at Little Jon's was awesome, so good that I feel compelled to write a Google review even though I've never left one before. I got into bow hunting about three years ago and have visited various shops in the area to buy equipment, get work done, or be coached. I found them to be adequate at best, downright questionable at worst. I was never confident in the equipment I'd bought, the work I'd got done, or the shooting advice for which I'd paid. Despite shooting regularly, my accuracy and consistency was poor, and I was very frustrated heading into this deer season.
So I decided to buy a new rig and get it set up properly, so I could stop wondering whether my issues were due to my bow or to user error, and just practice. A friend of mine suggested Little John's and I decided to check them out, on account that none of the other shops seemed to have done a decent job. I'm slow to decide and kind of a cheapskate, so buying a new bow with new accessories was a bit of process for me. I probably spent four or five hours over three visits just deciding on which bow to get. The entire time, the owner and his son were extremely patient and worked with me to make the best choice, while my youngest son played with their dogs. The whole process was actually pretty fun. When I went in for pickup/fitting/tune, Jon and JP spent two full hours with me getting the whole rig set up just right. It was a great experience, all the way through. They definitely earned the sale, and my future...
Read moreIf you are a first time purchaser of a bow or new to archery I would highly suggest going elsewhere even if it means giving your money to a big box store like Cabelas. Several of the recent 5 star reviews were written by people who are new to the sport that may not know any better and a few mention being setup with a new bow in less than an hour. Any shop that spends less than an hour on a new customer is ripping you off and that was exactly my experience. These guys are fast talkers. No effort was made to fit the $1200 Hoyt purchased by them and unfortunately the bow is over 2 inches short for my 32+ inch draw. The bow is not safe for me to use due to the odd sizing. I purchased a proper sized bow at a different shop in another state. This shop took the time to measure my draw, show me proper form, and made sure everything was setup correctly before leaving. We spent almost 3 hours with the fitting process at no additional charge. A bow is not a toy and really should have the proper care taken when being setup with a new customer. Something to consider when making a purchase for yourself, your child, or anyone you care about.
3 stars for the fact that if pressed hard enough you will get some expert advice from the staff here. My friends who are ingrained in the sport do testify to the expert knowledge you can find here, especially when it comes to Hoyt bows. However it just isn't the best place for any newcomers...
