My husband and I stopped by here out of convenience since our favorite archery shop is over an hour away from us. We simply needed more arrows for my bow. Well the man who helped us was not every friendly, but we were willing to overlook that. We gave them one of my arrows to use as reference for cutting the other arrows. After they were done, my husband paid and we left. I think there was an issue with the main register, as he had my husband move to another one, but he mumbled so quietly about needing to use the other one my husband was confused and had to figure out himself to follow him to a different spot. Not a big deal, just added to the very unfriendly feel we got from the place. Anyway, we checked out and left. The next day we were looking over the arrows and realized that we only had 11 new arrows, excluding the one of ours they used as reference. The box the man scanned to check us out literally says it's supposed to be a pack of 12. I have no idea what they did with the other arrow or if they got confused and mistook the one we gave them for reference as the 12th arrow (they put a tip on it since it was missing it), but we paid for 12 arrows and only got 11. My husband called the next day to let them know the mistake and whoever was on the phone just seemed confused and said he'd talk with the guy who checked us out and then get back to us. My husband called again the next day and the man said they'd combed the place and hadn't found an arrow matching the ones we'd bought and said we must have lost one. We had left the arrows in the box the entire time after we left the establishment (my husband had to ask for the box since the worker just handed him the bunch of arrows, scanned the empty box they came in and was going to let him carry all the loose arrows out). I am extremely unimpressed with this place. The workers are not friendly, hardly look you in the eye, and treat any issue you have with them as if it's a you problem and couldn't possibly be their fault. We paid for 12 arrows and only got 11. They will never get our...
Read moreSo I purchased a new special order PSE evolve 35 with custom strings and cables from Adam . the bow was supposed to be 50- 60lb adjustment. I like to shoot all my bows peaked out bc it’s best performance in my experience. so I go to adjust my poundage and all the way down it only goes up to 56.5 pounds . Now remember it’s supposed to be able to go to 60lbs . when I went to adjust my bow I only had shot abt 50 arrows thru it and only had it in my possession for about 3 weeks . But I will admit I was busy and didn’t pick up my bow right away. It was prob 3-4 wks before I got there to get it .So I bring the bow back to AJ’s archery were I purchased it from Adam . As I previously mentioned. I explained my issue to Adam and the first comment he says is “oh are you feeling strong now “ . Which I thought was rude but I laughed it off uncomfortably. so he takes it and checks the bow himself and says oh it’s probably just that your string has stretched. I replied the bow and strings are bran new with only 50 arrows shot thru it . then he says oh well I used to shoot PSE but I switched to Mathews this year . Why don’t you just buy a Mathews and get rid of that pse . I said to him man I just spend over 1,000 thousand dollars on this pse . I asked if he cld send it back to be fixed at the pse factory maybe . He said he cldnt or wldnt do that . bc he feels it was the string stretching. so he wanted me to buy new strings and cables for another close to $200 bucks . instead of him doing what wld of been right and just having it fixed bc it was obviously defective. after that I never purchased anymore bows from AJ’s archery . so anyone thinking of purchasing a bow I’d be careful or just find another pro shop . on a positive note before thjs bow issue I didn’t purchase some archery gear from his sister Allison I think her name was and her husband I think Chris was his name . they both treated me great with no issues . so if you have to go there just buyer beware . Hopefully this review saves someone from the nightmare I...
Read moreSo I ended up winning a Mathews bow for my 16 year old son at a game dinner. There was a note (email) from Mathews saying how I could trade the bow in for one that actually fit my son as long as it was the same model. I thought that would be easy enough, all I had to do was find a dealer. Right? Not so much. Runnings is listed as a Mathews dealer and they couldn't have been less helpful or more rude. I will definitely not be back there. I called another dealer down south and they didn't seem to interested as all they could talk about was how they didn't have time for something like that because of their archery leagues. Trying to be understanding I asked them what night would be best to come in, which nights do they have leagues? Their reply..."Every night." I didn't want to disappoint my son so I loaded the truck with my son and the bow and almost headed down when my wife came out the door. She said that they had just called and wanted to make sure I knew that I should expect to spend a substantial amount of money if I wanted them to help. So off to AJs we head. They made a phone call to Mathews and confirmed the procedure within 10 minutes of us walking through the door. Already more effort than the other two "dealers". He set the bow up for my son and added the accessories that my son had picked out and by the next week he was taking his first shots of hopefully many with it. Not only did he take care of the bow set up but when he spent over an hour with my son getting him all dialed in and helping him with his form. He has earned our customer loyalty and showed the difference between himself and the other guys. I could not recommend this shop more if you are a Mathews guy or are thinking of...
