Whiskey Run Distilling Co. — Local services in Town of New Glarus

My family and I were excited to try Whiskey Run for the first time; however, we left feeling disappointed and underwhelmed. We understand challenges that a new business must overcome and are patient and understanding as they work through these things. Unfortunately, our less than desirable experience did not come from such complications but rather the lack of adequate customer service. Upon arriving at the location, we walked up to the bar to order our cocktails. After looking at the menu, we were ready to order and appeared as such. Two women looked at us several times without saying a single word. We asked a gentleman next to us (a customer) if this is where we ordered. He informed us that we were correct and they would get our order soon. We waited several more minutes, with more glances from the woman at the counter, before the customer himself had to tell the woman we would like to order some cocktails. She hesitantly told us we could order from the man at the bar. After he had made our drinks and passed them to us, the same woman looked at us several times before asking, “are you ready to check out?” As a new business, it should be understood that the methods and procedures to ordering/paying for drinks is not clear as every business is different. Very cute place and we really want to like it. The bartender was nice and attentive. Drinks were delicious and very well made but over priced for too much ice. We were seated promptly for dinner and then completely ignored for 20 minutes. We finally waved down a server, im pretty sure we were not supposed to be her table, but she reluctantly took our order. We had an appetizer, so she said she would delay our sandwiches by 5 min. We ate our app and then worked through a couple of tasty but pricey drinks. One hour after ordering, we asked the hostess for the check as we never received our food. She graciously comped our drinks and appetizer. I am gussing she forgot to ever put the order in. I think it was bad luck to be seated in a table that was ignored and then forgotten about. We live nearby, so we will give them another shot sometime in the future despite this really...

we went on a Friday and we all got fried fish. here's the review: first off, on a positive note, the fried fish was pretty good. cooked well and not too greasy. here's where the negatives begin. everything else on the plate was adequate at best. the garlic mashed potatoes were lukewarm and bland. they had the audacity of serving the dinner roll nearly cold with no butter. we asked the server why there wasn't any butter with the roll and she looked at us like we had seven heads. the tartar sauce was fine but what really upset me was the coleslaw. I have never had coleslaw so sour before. I've had bland coleslaw, I've had soggy coleslaw but I have never had sour coleslaw. and that has me worried it might have gone off. fingers crossed.
