I came to the camp the summer of 1959 a friend of my foster father and his wife sent me there. I was 12 years old and my first time away from home. It was the highlight of my life. They taught us so many useful skills I have used all my life. They taught us how to Shoot a gun for hunting, how to track a wounded animal, shoot a bow and arrow, row a boat, paddle a canoe, so many experiences. We'd go to bed at 9:00 up at 5:00 a big breakfast then to the docks. The days were filled with so many different activities. They taught us about nature, how to identify types of trees, How to measure the amount of board feet of lumber to harvest from a tree. How to survive if we got lost. As an adult my first job was at NYS Nursery assisting with measuring Trees and the square footage of lumber we could get from each. We'd mark the Trees with paint and they would be sold to loggers. After they removed the trees they would grind up the remaining tree waste and we'd put it on the hiking trails. We would replant the area cut and plant berry bushes and other feed for the animals. I'm 74 now and have never forgotten...

   Read moreAbsolutely beautiful camp. After 3 years of going, nothing has changed. Every meal and laugh is just as I remember from 2018 and 19. I highly recommend this camp for anyone interested in hilarious skits and spending time outdoors!
