Stopped here on Wednesday, 19 February there were two shovels on the wall and the price that I could see said 899 or 895 I went up to the register and the woman rang them up and she said 30 something dollars and I said no, they’re 899 apiece so she made me walk back over to check the price. In the meantime she started waiting on somebody else when I came back. I had to stand there and wait for her to finish with the other person And I said to her that they were priced ate something and she said let me call someone so she calls a person. I don’t remember his name and I walked back over and he goes. Can I help you and I showed him and when I looked up there was another price of 999 that was hidden by the shovels handle so he came over with me to the counter scanned it and says three now there’s $17 and change which would’ve made like 30 something dollars plus tax and I said well I’m sorry he goes well. They must’ve been putting the wrong place now. I could understand one shovel, but not both of them and what they should’ve done was given me the price that was ticketed and I was even willing to pay the nine dollar one instead they just looked at me well did you change your mind? I walked out of the store I will not be back. That was extremely poor customer service not my fault they don’t know where to put their merchandise and as I said it wasn’t just the...
Read moreThis happened a few months ago and I went back and forth on leaving this review. However, a recent conversation (Neighbor noticed you have a sign that say no backpacks in store, figured you have a theft problem) made me reevaluate the situation so here goes;
Went into the store with my brother to grab a button battery and I thought the guy was being helpful, asked me what kind of battery I was looking for, I told him and he proceeded to stand there and stare at me with his arms folded. It was kind of uncomfortable but whatever. Grabbed the part I needed and then this guy just follows us up to the register. Mind you, I live 5 minutes down the street. I buy most of my Charcoal/grilling supplies from Ace in the summer. Have used them for rentals and bought a couple Stihl chainsaws and blowers here. Used to buy sand/topsoil here in bulk till they sent me a load with a bunch of diesel fuel in it. Point is, Im in the store at least once a month. Anyways, I get paid up for the batteries and leave. When we get out to the truck my brother says "I think the guy in there thought we were stealing, that's why he followed us around." Yep, that's exactly what happened. I get it, I'm wearing dirty work pants and probably look homeless but that kind of behavior is how you lose a customer forever. There's nothing you stock that can't be bought elsewhere. I'll...
Read moreTerrible. We tried to buy a Weber Grill that was on sale over the phone. The individual who answered had no clue about the sale, could not find a knowledgeable staff member, promised a return phone call that never came. A follow-up phone call from us, as the store was closing at 3:00 PM resulted in two hang ups. So, we bought the grill from Home Depot. So much for patronizing local businesses. Obviously, they don’t need our patronage, AND they don’t want our cash either. This is the third time we’ve tried to deal with this store. The difficulties have been consistent. No more. As it’s the only ACE Hardware near by, ACE has lost us as a...
