I am calling this the step master 5000 mountain from now on! I wouldn't say this is an easy hike. I would say this is more of a moderate hike. This trail isn't easily marked. You will need to go around the back side of the lodge to the left by the old bobsled shack building and the old 1980 bobsled track is. There you'll see sign in booklet. I call it the step master 5000 because thats pretty much the trail. A bunch of rock steps with really long switchbacks that felt like forever. But man those steps! Someone has a sick sense of humor putting all those steps in! Cut me some slack for a guy who's in the upper 300 lbs range doing outdoor endurance hiking in very hot and humid weather in August. If I can do it! anyone can do it! Views at the top are amazing! Smoke was thick with the wildfires from Canada coming down into the ADKs but made it look really cool with the haze! I think I read somewhere the trail is 1.7 miles to the top but I don't think that's true at all? Felt like a 4 or 5 mile round trip with this trail that was just rebuilt. Anyways, enjoy the pictures and enjoy the hike!

One of my favorite hikes in the Adirondack region. The trail starts at the back of the welcome center. Once u You found it, then the path is easily marked. Breath taking views of the mountains. Did snowshoeing there and we had an amazing time. There's also a nice gift shop to get souvenirs and also hiking gear and ski equipment to buy. Washrooms available and the parking is free.

There is a pretty flat start, lots of downed trees across the trail at first, then a swamp that I'm sure never truly dries out, then the climb begins. It's a pretty nice hike, not too hard. Brought our 1.5 year old dog and he had zero problems doing it all himself. The views are wonderful, but we were unable to find the marker at peak. Very fun hike all around.

A moderate hike that took roughly 2 hours to complete, but sooooo worth it. Just getting to the trail - there was a big incline. There was a lot of steps/stairs on the trail in the beginning. My knees definitely took a beating after this as they were in pain but could have just been the way I was walking.

There are 3 summits to visit and each provides a different perspective. Came during peak fall foliage and the views were honestly breathtaking. I was literally...
