I was captivated by the beauty and vastness of natures cyclical anum. That all of a sudden nip to the air. Animals scurrying for their cache of winter food. Thats the high peaks wonder. There are plenty of tables for a picnic , or to drink in the best of natures display. Then you enter the building and there's vending machines that were adequately stocked. As with most North Countrys buildings, they use native trees from clearing to be erected. The nice wood motif with the pines aroma pleasing the olfactory senses. Which means you can also be sure that the rest rooms clean and with more travelers for the foliage, I waa surprised. I took a few minutes of retrospect to walk the ground and memorialize the beauty of the little plot of land in the Adirondack Mountains...
Read moreWe were driving from Vermont down into New Jersey and this was a very nice place to stop. It’s not a commercial rest stop there were some vending machines but no fast food places. It’s pleasant. It’s kind of been. You know a forested area and everything was clean and it worked and we enjoyed it.
They have maps on the walls and that was lucky for us. Our GPS was going to take us up the west side of Lake and had us going across on a ferry. When I discovered this and then found out that the ferry was not open in early March, we were able to use the maps that were on the wall to determine that we could cross in a different spot.
