These border officers are incredibly rude and ignorant. On July 17 at approximately 4:35 p.m., I was asked to head into the building along with my daughters. Although the place was empty of visitors, we waited 40 minutes before the border crossing officer at the booth (I think the name was Ada) felt like bringing our passports inside the building even though it wasn't busy. That person saw us and knew we were tired and yet walked in, talked to his buddies for a few minutes about meaningless things, probably went to the bathroom and finally surrendered the passports to the next officer. Another officer (white guy glasses, blond or redhead?) He looked at the passports and scoffed, "I'm not an agricultural specialist. Someone else can do those" and left them there. Finally, Officer Phelps took the passports and offered to help. The whole ordeal was appalling. The amount of arrogance and rudeness is incredible. The same blond officer looked in as we answered Officer Phelp's questions and laughed in a mocking way, which made my daughters feel so uncomfortable. But... if I had made a complaint or showed some opposition, look out, I'd be thrown in jail for the slightest comment. Someone should look into this and evaluate these people who work there. Most of these officers were standing around or sitting there doing NOTHING. I'm serious, they give the USA a bad name. It's so incredible how the border protection website does not have a comment or complaint section. We can't bring phones in, no taking pictures, and so they get away with saying anything they want even if it's inappropriate. I wish I could give this...

If you not Canadian or American than kindly use some other route as lots of racists and act of racisms you can face in this place. My in laws are Nepalese and they are legally staying in US and they do have a Canadian Visa too. We went through the same route and stayed in Ontario for a week but while returning; The officers working there denied the entry to US stating the I-539 provided by USCIS is fake and does not exists. Me, my wife and my daughter 2.5 years old do have a US Passport , We were harassed by the officers for 3 hours continuously. They denied us to enter the US and we have to drive back to Canada all the way to Ontario. If my in laws had intention to reside in US than we won’t have gone to Canada; We could have applied for their green card rather than extending their visas. I even showed that the document clearly state that they are legal to stay in US until Dec 12 and I showed them the itinerary that they are leaving to their own country in Dec 4. Officers here need to learn to behave and have a general knowledge about the documents issued by your own authorities named USCIS. We did have a same situation while getting in from Peace Bridge but at least The Supervisor was little bit smart and he let us in. Because of this incident my in laws along with my baby is still in trauma. We were harassed just because we were different from them. The white small officer was acting sooo smart as if he is the law; Common dude you still needs to...

You come to this place: beautiful place with the views of the 1000 Islands
. but you are met with a rather “friendly” agent. We were heading back into the US after spending a little over a week driving and stopping at major places in Canada. At first he asked some nice questions, but followed them up with a few questions about marijuana and smoking. All these questions, we answered truthfully. Anyway, we were asked to pull over so they can search the car and baggage. Once we get inside, the wait wasn’t long. Again, the agents inside who were questioning us probed more with questions leaning towards bringing marijuana into the US or paraphernalia we may be bringing back with us. After a little more waiting, their last ditch attempt was wanting us to empty our pockets and search my purse.

While the agents were nice to us, it did seem rather weird they kept trying to poke at us to “come clean” to bringing in something we can BUY IN THE STATE OF NEW YORK (although we didn’t).

I wouldn’t say the agents are profiling seeing as my partner is white and I’m ambiguous (mixed Filipino and white), but it really made us question why they would want to pull over two people with clean records that they suspected looked like two young hooligans who went to Canada for suspicious, weedy reasons.

Gotta love our hard-earned tax dollars being used to harass families to hunt...
