This Amish family business is a real treasure. What you'll find depends on the time of year you stop by. In the spring, the store is full of a terrific selection of seeds, and the greenhouses have starter plants, herbs, and bedding flowers. As spring moves towards summer, three big greenhouses are full of a wonderful selection vegetables, flowers, and garden accessories. At harvest times the store and greenhouses full of wonderful produce. (I never knew that there were so many kinds of squash.) Handwritten signage lets you know if the product was raised naturally (Amish do not subscribe to USDA certification) or conventionally (most apples offered in the fall are not organic). Year round the gas run refrigerators hold local eggs, meats, and dairy products, The shelves have a huge variety of culinary herbs and spices, as well as dried legumes and fruits. If you are lucky they won't be out of a jar of the home canned pickled beets. One corner of the store has a plethora of herbal medicinals, including some that I had been unable to find at the larger co-op or wellness centers. David and his hardworking family are a pleasure to do business with. Everyone pitches in. Don't be surprised if a shy little girl helps carry your purchases...

They have excellent produce, with good bulk pricing. As fellow food preservers, they understand my needs. Always helpful staff. They even do bulk custom orders, if it's possible. And last year they were even able to give me the names and contact info for chicken processors. (They used to do it themselves). They also have loads of baked goods, some of which I've tried and liked. Inexpensive pies, breads and cookies. They have their handmade wooden furniture and such there. I haven't purchased any myself. They don't take debit or credit cards - no electricity! - but they will take a check. And...

Delicious, fresh produce and excellent pricing on everything, including natural remedies and essential oils.
