Adopted our first kitten there, poor thing had been given all its shots and been neutered within a WEEK when he had JUST turned two months old and was underweight!!! Barely 1.8lbs. Requirement for that is 2lbs minimum. Staff said he was just groggy from all the shots but he died five days after bringing him home due to feline distemper. The whole litter apparently died and they had to shut down the shelter temporarily to disinfect everything. I understand feline distemper is impossible to treat with kittens and even detect but the staff was extremely cold about the situation, lied about his condition during adoption, and couldn’t tell us anything about the kitten’s temperament or toys he liked when trying to adopt him. They had quickly pumped him with required vaccines when he was too young for it and underweight in order to get a few bucks which can’t have helped his illness. Wish we had known the dangers of this in advance to notice the warning signs. We were concerned because he never could run, wobbled everywhere, and was extremely weak but was told that was a side effect from the vaccines. He never played, eyes didn’t even follow the toys or seem to register movements, and he just slept all the time/always cold. Cant imagine how many people were hurt by the sudden loss of their kitten. I am speaking on behalf of my fiancé on her account. She was shown two kittens and got attached to them. We love our pets as if they were our kids. She went in with full intention on adopting and loving and caring for a couple of kittens. There was nothing wrong with the application except for the fact that we are moving in a week into our first house. They told her “our center always has kittens.” As if that was supposed to make her feel better. They said there is a 4 month acclamation process I’ve never personally heard of before because there is a slight chance the animal might get sick.. We live in a clean stress free environment... After she grew an attachment to these two they told her no. Why weren’t these questions asked sooner she fell in love with them! They also told her someone else is interested in these specific kittens and are going to look at him and possibly bring him home breaking her heart. She tried seeing if there was any way of keeping the kittens at a family members home until we can relocate. They still said no. Thanks to them the kittens we wanted to care for won’t get to see our love won’t be taken care of by us. Just because someone has a permanent residence doesn’t mean they can care for an animal...

Took our male cat in today 4/2/2019 this morning at 7:30 in the morning was told to come back at noon over phone then we got there the lady said no come back at 3:30-4:00. So we go get him at the time told we get him in car and he smells of cat urine BAD! we pull over after the smell is so bad is making us dizzy.
