With the holidays coming up whenever you have to deal with the in-laws and that’s not so much fun and easy way…. To get through the holidays is take everybody to the races if they want to talk you can’t hear them anyways just keep on saying yeah uh-huh yeah…. Always have a memorable time here. Have a pet peeve with the Chicago wise guys as everyone their group is about to run and after they is the incredible amount of people connected to their group crowding the area around the starting line sometimes 8 people deep and almost all drinking beer. As a fan paying 45.00 at the gate and wanting to see the racing and have to look at large groups of people at the starting line instead of race cars is extremely frustrating. I can see a crew of 3-4 people per car for the current pair on the racetrack is fine but not a crowd of 30-50 people for the whole entire session. Maybe the wise have forgotten who is responsible for their payout, I asked one of their people to express concerns if the fans that felt same way as myself and was told "tuff ..." Very unprofessional and selfish . Not sure how they are more important than the race fan who pays the bills. I would never travel to see that group run anywhere. The Grove has lost my respect over this group of children and classless...

I came here with my dad every week in the 70s when I was a child. It was great then, and it's still just as great. Sadly, my dad developed dementia at the young age of 70. Before he lost his memory, he expressed his wish for his ashes to be spread on the track where we went when I was growing up. Losing a parent is difficult, but calling Great Lakes Dragaway and asking if this was possible alleviated half of my grief. We me and a few friends flew in from Los Angeles with the ashes and drove from Chicago to the track. The staff was incredibly kind, and the owner was exceptionally cool. Not only did she make it all happen, but she also personally drove us on the track to fulfill my dad's wish. This speaks volumes about the business. Afterward, we stayed for the races, and it felt like a flashback to my childhood. We had the best time. No matter where you are, make sure to visit Great Lakes Dragaway for a fun-filled day...
